News & Updates:
New comic in Arts and Writings.
Rant:
Tenaciousness Inspiration.
I don't know about you readers, but I feel great. It's been a while since I felt this inspired. There's so much I want to do. I might have quite a few things out by the summer (but I'm not making any promises :p. ) I mean seriously, I've been constantly daydreaming. Getting so many ideas, I don't know where to start. There's this woman I keep coming back to, but I don't know her name. I've already done so much with her. And yet, her name alludes me.

Well anyway, few you know I'm working on a certain two page comic. Rest to sure I'll get it done sooner or later. I just decided not to use it for the Dreadful Dreams newsletter comic. I use a shorter, more simple comic for that (the new one in the Art/writings section.) I just hit a bit of a block with it. You see, it wasn't coming out like the way I had it in my head. I decided to redraw it, try to make it a bit bigger some I can get more detail in. The newsletter comic got me warmed up a bit, so I'll might have a better time drawing this comic. We just have to see. By the way, three friends of mines will be guest staring in it.

I'm getting a few more hours at work, hopefully I'll get a little more training as well [insert emotioncon]  .Even though it cuts into time I had to do other things, the money I'll get makes up for it. I might get my car paid off in six month or so, and I have eleven payments left. Yeah, that's right, double payments female-dog! And I'll be able to save up for college too.

OH, And I'll be going to
Acen (Anime Central) Saturday the 12th. If anybody else is going to the convention, be sure to look for my. I'll be cosplaying as an American equivalent to a Manga-ka. Man I hope I met Yasuhiro Nightow there, that would be cool.

Well. That's about it for this month, quarter, whatever.

-Later. . .
(Man I need a new ending phase.)

To sale out, or not to sale out. That is question. It would make it easier to buy my comics. . .
News & Updates:

Rant
: Too much, so little, can't seem to do anything.
So I seem to have gotten a little backed up. I haven't been working on my stuff lately, Although I keep getting so many ideas for different things it's getting hard to focus on one thing. But I think I got a plan. I shall now tell you my plan. And At the same time announce some of my work.
All titles, concepts, written works listed below are copyrighted 2006 to 2007 Michael A. Nolan.

*First: I'm going to try and finish my format prototype for a comic series. The prototype will be taking place in a different universe then the universe the comic will be taking place in.
*Second: I'll begin work on a one shot story, Pirates VS. Ninjas: Raid and Ruin. I dare you to try to figure out what's it about.
*Third, I'll be working with friend Travis Dietrich on a horror/psychological/thriller/zombie movie. And at the same time, assist in his comic.
*Fourth: Now, even though I'm listing this as fourth, I will be work on this off and on through out all of my projects. I still haven't forgotten about H*ll's ***hole. It will be written as several short stories, and then hopefuly, I can get them published as a book. I'm still going have to work on the title of the series.

I got new computer, so I don't have to use the family computer. However, I won't be able to comics until I get a scanner. And I won't be able to make good comics until I get photoshop or something. So please bare with me.

I might be starting a café press account, see if anybody will buy a shirt with one of my ideas on it. But I'll probably won't be doing that anytime soon. Maybe some time in November, maybe not.

That's it for this update. Thanks for reading.

-Michael.

So long, who gives a damn anymore,
What do you care? I don't know,
Why do I do this? Because I want to!

News & Updates:
Project bars for T.O.M.S.:U.P. and the yet to be named doujinshi are being installed in the art and writings page.

Rant
: I think my time broke.
T.O.M.S.:U.P. is coming along nicely, I've broke it up in three parts. I've been re-writing it.  Once I'm done re-writing part three, I'll write up the comic script and begin drawing. I'm still playing around with Manga Studio Debut, not sure how the whole will after I'm done. But the whole point to T.O.M.S.:U.P. is a experimentation with a comic book size comic. I warn all of you about this, the book will be very bloody and gory. Things turn out that way when you write about an demon possessing someone and making them go crazy with a flail, things do tend to get a little bloody.

I'm doing a doujinshi with friend; Travis Diet-Rich Rootbeer guy. It'll have seven stories, three done by me, three done by him, and one we will work together on. Unlike my other projects which have a "it's done when it's done" date to them. The doujinshi will be done halfway through September.

I'm kind of more seriously thinking about think about making a shop page. The question, would anybody buy anything from me? No really, I'm asking YOU, would you buy anything from me?

That's about it for today. Later.

OH CRAP! My Dracula jack-o-lantern impaled my other pumpkins!
News & Updates:
Mmm. . . .maybe next time. . . .

Rant
: Impaled Jack O'Lantern!
Lets see, time has been going fast. October is almost over, d*** it! Things shouldn't be going this fast! Anyway, I'm beginning to make sketches for the T.O.M.S. prototype comic. The Doujinshi is kinda dead, R007b33r-guy has lost all interest in it, and I haven’t had time to write my half.

Development of Tales of Modern Swordsmen is going well. The characters seem to be coming along nicely, and their stories keep getting more interesting by the day. And the plot is forming quite well too, still some things to smooth out and things that need to changed.

Halloween is here! The dark creatures are preparing to have their day! People are choosing there costumes, designs for Jack-O’Lanterns are planned. And I have nothing to do! There’s nothing this year! I'm going ask around about Halloween, but I don’t think anybody else is going to do anything. I'm thinking I'll just rent a bunch of horror movies, buy tons of candy, and watch till I fall asleep, and have candy induce nightmares.

By the way, I'm reading Dracula by Bram Stoker. It's quite interesting. I've been wanting to read the original book for some time now. Just thought I'd mention that.

That's all for this update, later.

News & Updates:
I finally got around to putting those three pieces of Original art that I used for picture of the update, up on the Art/Writings section. I also put up a new comic in the art and writings section (heh, it’s been on Dreadful Dreams for over month now.). As well I added new links.

Rant
: Time's whipping boy!
Well. . . .what was it I said early in the year? "This year shall be the year of Inspiration, With hopefully low Procrastination.". Well, there was lots of inspiration, lots of good ideas. But as for procrastination. . . . F***. I don't know how time got away from me. I mean, Just look at my Archives. I only updated five times this year, six counting this update. Oppose to twelve updates last year, and eleven official updates the year before that. But hey, I've been getting good ideas. And making a good story in my head. I just need to get it on paper.
Speaking of which, Tales of Modern Swordsmen: Universe Prime, will be used as promotion for Tales Of Modern Swordsmen. So TOMS:UP will not be released until I have enough of Tales Of Modern Swordsmen done. (I.e. Character designs, The outline fully written out, etc.). As for the project that R007b33r-guy and I have been working on; It's been decided that He will be doing the art. I simply don't have the time to do the art for him and for my own work. But I will be prove reading his scripts, and do edits. As well as touching up his art in my computer for him.

I'm working on getting photoshop. Once I do I'm going make that Merchandise page. Maybe I might a little money on the side. maybe it be a waste of time.
.....................................................................................
Probably a waste of time.

Well, December is the month I do two updates. Next update will be on December 24th, I will also release a new Christmas comic for the masses.

Till Next time, Happy Holidays.

Don't ask about the end; I'm not sure how I'm writing this right now instead of. . .Well.
Chances are after this update, I probably will not update for a while. So here's a quick little thing about my projects.
Characters are coming along. I'm so eccentric with details, that I wrote Bernhard's measurements in metrics. He's Deutsche after all. But I'm starting to get distracted by my other Character who have started to get pissed that I'm focusing of Tales Of Modern Swordsman instead of giving them some attention.

Huh, for a Christmas Eve Update, there's not much Christmas in this update. Umm. . .Oh well.
Until Next Time,
Merry Christmas.

That was a fun weekend, except when I got hit in the head with that pokeball.
News & Updates:
First update of the 12 part series; 2008.
I know I said I was going to update on the fourteenth, but I had internet problems, sue me.
Videos from Pokettokon should be up within the week.

Ra
nt: Playing with a Shinigami’s Scythe.
So R007b33r-9uy, ChaosNinj4, and I went to Pokettokon this weekend (http://www.truthdetective.com/pokettokon/), and we had a ball. And unlike ACen where everything was huge, and you almost never saw the same person twice, Pokettokon was small, and was all in one building. Its concept is that of a "pocket" convention. There weren't a lot of dealers, but I got a few things there. A couple of wall scrolls, a Hellsing The Jackal keychain, and an original manga done by Jason "Never gave his last name" called Bleeding Interior. I think I'll do another Comic review of a comic about it at some point this month. I took a bunch of video while I was at the con, I'm thinking most of the video I took I'll mash together into ten minutes of mini-kon madness. As well, I'm going to post a few full videos of thing I took, Like the Pirates Vs. Ninja panel. Speaking of people taking video, HOI 19 and WEEK 25 were there. HOI gave no real respect, but 25's report was quite good. At the end you can see R00tB33rguy and myself, I had my back turned at the time though. Oh, and before I forget, because the AMV contest only got three entries, they locked the doors on us, and had a public reading of Shinji Ikari's livejournal : http://daddysboy4.livejournal.com/. The horror, and humorous horror.

Comics are moving forward, you should except them SOON!!! Some time between this summer, and the next election.

Okay, now for that review for the
Grim Reaper Sickle - Monster Scythe.
Specifications:
Blade: 23 1/2 inch long, 2 1/4th inch at widest point, 4/16th of an inch thick, advertised as coated carbon steel blade.
Handle: two piece screw together, 80inch overall when screwed togther.
Blade is held in place by two screws.
I brought this
TrueSwords.com, when I saw it, I had to have it. Reading that it had an carbon steel blade and hardwood handle, I thought it would be a good weapon. When I got I had to put it together. The handle came in two pieces, that you screw together, the blade you had to insert into the handle, you then secure it with two screws that came with it.  After putting it together, I took it outside to have a feel. It was unbalanced, making it difficult to use. And the wood didn't feel as solid as it should of have, and the fact that it was in two piece increased that feeling. I decided to test cut it. I found a thin patch of tall dead grass, I though this perfect to test an scythe. After three tries the handle broke on me, along the grain of the wood above where the two pieces screwed together. I e-mailed true swords at once about this. Apparently, it use never meant for any use, other to use as a prop. Though, they understood how the language could be misleading about their product, and that I knew what I was doing the whole time. After giving a detailed report about how it broke, they sent me another one that should be here shortly.
My final view of it:
It's a very good prop. And I plan on using it in my films once I get a better camera and software. And TrueSwords.com is a wonderful web-site with excellent costumer service. Though, I would recommend doing some research on your blade before you buy anything from them, or any other web-site.
I give the Grim Reaper Sickle - Monster Scythe, a three out of five.

That's it for now, see ya.
(P.S. RootBeer-Guy finally updated his damn site, go look. http://www.freewebs.com/hundredgunsdietrich/ )

Rant: Screw Global-Warming(TM), My ***** are freezing off!
Well, I'm saving up my money, hopefully within a month and half I'll have enough for a new camera, and new editing software. But of course, Saving for Acen is a factor in this. The cost of going is still up in the air, What with the hotel, gas, food, parking, Registration, and etc. So yeah, money is tight. I and Travis R00tb33r-guy are planning on starting our own production thing, although, getting actors will be tough. If you're an actor or actress, and you like our writing styles, feel free to call. Anyway, R007b33r-guy has set up a site for his comic "The Sheeto Trio." He's having me draw some sketches for him.
I bet a lot of you are wondering what happened to that one comic I kept talking about for the past year. Well like I said before, I'm going to use it for promotion for Tales of Modern Swordsmen(c)&(tm), and I need to finish character designs and the overall outline before I can release that one comic. It'll come out at some point, it's not like there's anything that's dated in it. But to tie you over, I'm going to put out a comic review of a comic soon, so maybe that'll satisfy your Michael Nolan comic fix, you addict.
When the weather gets warmer(Yeah I know, that's not until June.) and dryer, I'm going to go out and make a video of my sword skills. Maybe do a cutting test, to show what a Great Sword can do.
Umm, not enough jokes in that. Aww **** 'em. . . . .  goin' miss 'em.

Anyway, that's all for this update. Later.

I made a short film, now on Revver.
Rant:Someone Spiked the Pocky!
What's this? A short film? Made by me? That's right. Over last weekend I shot this film. You see, I discovered you could do visual effects in Windows Media Maker (the only video editing software I have, sad). So I thought, "Huh, what do you know, I could make a drug trip now in a video now." I didn't really think too hard on it. A slight idea of a stoned ninja came to mind, but it wasn't a serious thought. Well, the night before my brother hit me in the wrist with his Bokken (wooden sword) and damaged it quite badly. It wasn't broken, but there was some muscular tissue damage, and the veins in my hand looked like they were going to burst. But since the bone wasn't broken, I figured I'll work it off. The next day at work my wrist and hand were killing me, and I didn't even take any pain relief for it. So my endorphins were working over time that day. Of course, since I get very bored at work, So I just let my mind wander. So the idea of a "Stoned-Ninja" came back to mind. Scenes of such video came to mind. Chaos of creativity was raging in my head. I cried out in my endorphin high "I shall make this video, and put on the internet by next week!" I got John Folkers to agree to play a part. I got Travis to produce it (by produce, I mean he give us rootbeer.) And I set to make this film. Now here it is, on revver.com for all to see. Please, watch, and comment.
