With the blessing of her parents James and Annabella and one suitcase she left Scotland, immgrating to Canada July 29, 1929. Sponsored by her three sisters Maryanne, Alice, and Maggie who were already in Canada, she boarded the S.S. Minedosa and for seven days across the Atlantic ocean to Halifax, Canada. Edith travelled by steam train for seven days across Canada to Calgary. were she was met a the train station in Calgary, Alberta, Canada by her three sisters.
John (Joch) Barclay brother to our Great Grandmother, came to Canada a few years later.
