It's been a full year for us.  Kim and I became parents, so our lives have changed a lot.  The birth experience was more stressful than we planned, with some tense moments while we moved from a birthing center to the hospital.  We were fortunate that Kim's parents could help us out those first few days while we adjusted.  After such a rocky start we've both been thrilled that Liam came through it all so well.  He's happy baby, outgoing, who travels well.  Already he's been to a family reunion in Michigan, multiple visits to West Virginia and Connecticut, out to Las Vegas while I attended a conference, up to the Poconos for a weekend and down to Alabama for Thanksgiving.  All this and he's only 8 months old !

Kim is taking an extended break from teaching to stay home with Liam.  We're fortunate that she can do this as we can't imagine putting him in daycare.  I'm still working at SAIC as branch manager and software developer.  Being a parent has made me cut back on the time I spend at work, which is a challenge since I've been a workaholic.  But it's starting to settle down to a routine again, though the routine now revolves around Liam.

We find ouselves blessed and thankful.  We hope you all find yourselves as blessed and wish you a happy new year.

Tim, Kim and Liam
