We
have a rich tradition of active parent participation in our school. Volunteer Coordinators organize
all parent volunteer activities at MV. All parents who wish to volunteer should
fill out a Volunteer
Form and return it to the PTA box in the school office. PTA will
also post volunteer opportunities on this site. Please contact the volunteer
coordinator, Barbara Goldman at "bgold11072@aol.com" bgold11072@aol.com
, or feel free to e-mail the president any time at sumanmitraganapathy@gmail.com
.
Volunteers
help in many PTA functions, eg. in hospitality,
Reflections program, SAT/PSAT prep programs, Job Shadow program, directory,
emergency preparation kits etc.
There are
also various opportunities to help around the campus at MV. Parents help with
the Music Department (Music Booster), sports ( Athletic
Boosters), Art (art booster), technology (technology club) Drama, Speech and
Debate, clubs, DECA, FBLA, chaperoning field trips etc. Volunteering at school
is a great way to take part in your student's life and be a support factor for
his or her success. Statistics repeatedly show that students whose parents are
involved in school do show higher achievement and success in their education. Don't be shy. Ask how you can help. Both the school and the
teachers appreciate it.
PLEASE VOLUNTEER

Community volunteers with knowledge of constitutional law or government
relations to volunteer with our new class, Government Team..
Government Team is a high school class of twenty seven
seniors who have elected to undertake advanced studies in law and public
policy. Their work culminates in a nationwide competition where they present
their written policy and legal briefs on topics such as, but not limited to: political philosophy, constitutional history, use of
substantive due process, changes in eminent domain, and reasons behind
declining civic engagement.
We are seeking help in the following areas, and we welcome
those who can help in just one or several of these areas:
1) Volunteers may avail themselves to let students contact them regarding a
specific question (no physical meet up needed)
2) Volunteers may electronically critique the students’ written legal and
policy briefs (no physical meet up needed)
3) Volunteers may avail themselves to let the class call them to teleconference
(no physical meet up needed)
4) Volunteers may volunteer to judge one of our student presentations that are
held at the Cupertino City Council
5) Volunteers may volunteer to coach one of six student groups for a single
time or on a more continuous basis.
