| ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ( K ) THE ISSUE OF TRANSLATIONAL ERROR; OT & NT Within the content of the scriptures as translated in the King James Version are various examples of instruction which clearly reveal and show the corruption of error. Jesus plainly stated that error occurs when the person does not know the scriptures. Therefore, it stands to reason that knowing scripture can reveal and remove error. Moreover, not having the knowledge of scripture results in not knowing the power of God; 29. Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. - Matthew 22:29 24. And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? 25. For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven. 26. And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? 27. He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err. - Mark 12:24-27 With these few remarks of Christ the issue is quite clear that error and Gods’ Word cannot be inherently linked. Let us now further examine both the Old and New Testaments of the KJV scriptures in a further study of error and its’ various forms. By doing so, the KJV scriptures will further elaborate the truth of Christs’ words regarding error. Consquently, a clear scriptural understanding regarding the issue of error proves why translational error has never had any part in the production of the KJV scriptures. We will begin with Moses’ writings; 18. And he shall bring a ram without blemish out of the flock, with thy estimation, for a trespass offering, unto the priest: and the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his ignorance wherein he erred and wist it not, and it shall be forgiven him. - Leviticus 5:18 Moses writes in the book of Leviticus that a sacrifice is to be offered in order that atonement and forgiveness be provided for the erring person. Error, is equated with trespass and ignorance, such things which are in need of forgiveness and atonement. Is God guilty of trespass or ignorance ? Is God therefore in need of forgiveness or atonement ? Certainly not. Therefore error and God and consequently Gods’ Word cannot be one and the same. The holy scriptures of the King James are the Word of God. As such, the KJV scriptures cannot have and have never had translational error. In fact, to accuse the KJV scriptures with translational error would make the animal sacrifices of Old Testament times more powerful for the purpose of atoning and forgiving sins and errors. To accuse the KJV scriptures of error would then deny the spiritual ability of those scriptures to provide salvation and cleansing ( Psalms 119:9-11 / John 15:3 / Eph. 5:26-27 ) from all sin and error itself. In truth, if the King James translation of holy scripture contained error, it would itself be corrupt just as the erring person in Old Testament times was corrupt. In Numbers it is written; 22. And if ye have erred, and not observed all these commandments, which the Lord hath spoken unto Moses, 23. Even all that the Lord hath commanded you by the hand of Moses, from the day that the Lord commanded Moses, and henceforward among your generations; 24. Then it shall be, if ought be committed by ignorance without the knowledge of the congregation, that all the congregation shall offer one young bullock for a burnt offering, for a sweet savour unto the Lord, with his meat offering, and his drink offering, according to the manner, and one kid of the goats for a sin offering. 25. And the priest shall make an atonement for all the congregation of the children of Israel, and it shall be forgiven them; for it is ignorance: and they shall bring their offering, a sacrifice made by fire unto the Lord, and their sin offering before the Lord, for their ignorance: 26. And it shall be forgiven all the congregation of the children of Israel, and the stranger that sojourneth among them; seeing all the people were in ignorance. - Numbers 15:22-26 In these words of Numbers, a person who erred did not observe all of Gods’ commandments. Once again, a sacrifice offering was necessary to be made so that atonement and forgiveness from the error committed could be provided. If the King James holy scriptures had translational error, then they would not even have the ability to provide salvation for sinners in the similar manner that the Old Testament sacrificial animal offerings were able to provide atonement for a persons’ errors. This evidence, as contained within the content of the King James scripture, shows a distinction between God and error and therefore such evidence further proves that the KJV English translation is pure and absolute truth which needs no further retranslation or alteration. ------------------------------------------------------------- |
