| ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ( N ) THE ISSUE OF TRANSLATIONAL ERROR; NT - PART 4 Jesus spoke these words in regard to error, scripture and the power of God; 29. Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. - Matthew 22:29 24. And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? 25. For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven. 26. And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? 27. He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err. - Mark 12:24-27 Jesus states that error occurs when we do not know the scriptures. Therefore, knowing the scriptures will reveal error in ourselves and correct us and keep us from faults. The KJV scripture provides its’ inherent ability to correct and keep the soul from error by the standards outlined in Proverbs and 2 Timothy; 23. For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: - Proverbs 6:23 16. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17. That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. - 2 Timothy 3:16-17 If KJV scripture had translational error or fault then it could not be beneficial nor effective for the abilities listed in Proverbs and 2 Timothy which are doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness. Reproof and reprove are words which by definition means to find fault and error; to blame and show disapproval; to reprimand, accuse and rebuke. If scripture of the KJV contained inherent translational error or fault then it could not possibly be effective nor able in and of itself to find error and fault within the sinner. Nor could it then provide the correction and instruction necessary for the sinner to know and confess the Lord Jesus, obtain forgiveness of sins and thus receive eternal life. Any inherent translational error or fault within KJV scripture would automatically contradict its’ own written claims for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness. Thus making void its’ power to establish sound doctrine and instruction necessary for the child of God to grow spiritually in Gods’ righteousness. The power of Gods’ Holy Word as translated in the KJV could not provide the spiritual teaching and instruction necessary in order to enable the child of God with the ability to discern both what is good and evil if it contained any corruption in its’ English translation. However, the words of Hebrews clearly tell the reader of scriptures’ ability, ( the word of righteousness ), to provide spiritual discernment for the Christian; 13. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. - Heb. 5:13-14 With the word of righteousness, the child of God can obtain the ability to discern between good and evil because the word of righteousness is Gods’ Word. Therefore, in 1 Kings, the scriptures show young King Solomon going to God in order to obtain the ability to discern what is good and what is evil; 9. Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? 10. And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. - 1 Kings 3:9-10 This scripture in 1 Kings goes on to write of the great wisdom and understanding which God gave King Solomon. Just as King Solomon required Gods’ Word in order to know and discern between good and evil so also the present day Christian can know and discern between good and evil by way of the instruction of Gods’ Word, the word of righteousness ( Heb. 5:13-14 ). In Job, the scripture writes; 8. But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding. - Job 32:8 The inspiration of God, the Word of God, provides the spirit in man with understanding. In the same manner, the inspiration of God, His Word, provides the doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness ( 2 Timothy 3:16-17 ) that the child of God needs to grow in God and be perfect. These few other various scriptural reasons found within the scriptural content of the King James Bible clearly define and present for the reader the divine authority and the unchanging and incorruptibility of that English translation. Had there been any error in the English translation of holy scripture via the King James Version then its’ own written words in reality could not provide the ability to discern between what is good and what is evil. In reality, those written words could not provide the capabilities to correct and direct the child of God from sin and error and into perfection in Gods’ righteousness. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
