This 2002 Explorer XLT above turned out to be a good choice. It had a 4.6 litre V8 powerhouse, leather interior and all the extra's. Kelly really enjoyed this size truck but we both agreed that the ride is just not the same as the Expedition. After 2 years we traded it in for a 2004 Expedition. |
Here is Mark's newly aquired motorcycle, a 1987 Honda 600R. He got a great deal here, $1400 and the thing runs great. It was purchased in San Diego so it's had mostly light duty on the sandy beaches of Mexico and was never raced from what I can tell. Dad felt over the years that since Marks other bike (Yamaha YZ-250) burnt up in the shed fire, it ought to be replaced. So he sent Mark some dough and this is the result. A nice choice. Ton's of low-end torque and nice smooth power and sounds great! |
My newly purchased 1983 KTM-495. It's a brute of a bike, in fact this model was the fastest open bike in 1983 clocked at 123.75 mph at El Mirage dry lake bed by the staffers of Dirt Bike Magazine. It's nearest competitor was the Maico 490 Spider. I had considered the Maico but couldn't get over the KTM I owned in the 80's. I purchased this one from Barry Higgins shop in Douglasville Georgia. It is in excellent condition ready to race (if I have enough guts). It is one of those bikes with so much power that when your doing 80-90 mph across the desert, it's still trying to rip your arm's out of your shoulder. The bike is especially suited for open-desert racing where it can gobble up those wide open spaces. Motocross? Not too good as it's a tough one to negotiate the corners quickley.......but tons of power! |

Above is Mark on his passed down 1968 Honda 90 Sport freezing.. This was my first motorcycle that dad brought home in just about new condition. I think I was 13 or 14 when I started riding this thing. It was actually a great bike and very reliable. I learned all the basics (wheelies, power slides etc) with this little bike and Mark continued to ride it for some time. From this I graduated to a 305 Honda twin of which the pic's are forever lost. |

Above is Lance Green (brother-n-law) and his ground-up Harley he built. Lance is one of those that is very talented at turning nothing into something and when I first saw this thing in it's original faded and rusted condition I knew it was only a matter of time and money that Lance would turn it into a beauty. I asked him if he'd be willing to sell it and he said (as I would also), No Way! He and his wife Sharon enjoy riding with their friends on various weekend runs. |

Our 1920 model-T water truck we used to haul water to the house. This photo was taken in 1962 when we didnt have a water well. I used to ride on the back of this jelopy while Mom or Dad struggled getting bthis old relic up the hill. After it finally gave out Dad bought a 1-1/2 ton 1949 Ford flatbed. An improvement but not much! |
