The Mission: Man is a political animal, sometimes a party animal. He needs a choice. Those within Genesee County and Flint, Michigan are SOL when it comes to having a choice in their politics.
This is not the fault of the voters, Democrats are great at demonizing Republicans, and Republicans are great at "getting along" with Democrats. Getting along is great when you are neighbors with a disputed apple tree, but within the discussion of issues, people need a choice.
Far too long the voters of Genesee County have only had the choice of "Democrat A" or "Democrat B." Kind of like Coke or Vanilla Coke. The results have been tragic, loss of tens of thousands of jobs, high crime and Patsy Lou Williamson as Flint's Fist Lady.
Republicans can gain in Genesee County, blacks are big supporters of school vouchers, and many in the city live with crime and drugs right on their streets. Governor Granholm's veto of the definition of a baby proves that the Democrat's extremism on abortion.
Democrats demagogue the race issue. Being a Democrat means never having to explain anything, yet being a Republican means having to explain everything, "Sir, as a Republican you didn't support hate crimes, why do you not care if blacks or gays are beaten up and left for dead?" When the issue is whether beating someone because of his skin worse than beating him for his wallet.
As Republicans, we are out numbered here, in enemy territory. We must take the fight to the Democrats; let them know there is a voice that will not roll over with in this city and county. The voters need to know they have a choice for change. We may suffer heavy casualties, but we cannot rest until we liberate this city and county from a political party that believes more spending can fix anything. The Democrats believe the problems of life are not the result of their policies but because they have not implemented enough of their policies. Let's roll.
