ACTRESS

Soga Machiko
Rita Repulsa, MMPR 1

Famous for her roles as witch-queens, Japanese actress Soga Machiko first starred as the evil "Queen Hedrian" of Denjiman, and returned to Sentai years afterward, portraying  lead villain "Bandora" of Zyuranger. Of course, the series footage was shipped to America, where Haim Saban molded Bandora's character into "Rita Repulsa", dubbing over the Japanese dialect.  Using a makeover subplot in series 2 of the show,  the producers permanently replaced Soga with Carla Perez, who would be responsible for the rest of Rita's role on Power Rangers.

In series two, as Rita was given a makeover, the producers officially introduced Carla Perez as the permanent actress of Rita. Carla continued the role until Rita's undoing, when she was purified into a human; the moment when we finally were able to see the true, and beautiful, face of Carla. Carla also did some work on VR Troopers, as one of Viktor's beauties. Click here for images.

Barbara Goodson
Rita Repulsa, MMPR 1 -  Space
A certainly useful voice artist, Goodson provided the screeching voice of Rita Repulsa throughout all of her role on Power Rangers. Other known roles include Prince Sprocket, Orbus, Mandilok, and countless monsters from Mighty Morphin' to whatever current series.

RITA FUN FACT: The sub-companies created to produce Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie were Rita Enterprises (in America) and Tengu Productions (in Australia).
