Celebrating the music by several of Berlin's favorite composers, including the popular Walter Kollo and Paul Lincke, the concert was performed by the Washington Saengerbund under the baton of maestro Mariano Vales. It featured Washington's ever-popular soloists mezzo-soprano Ingrid Cowan and tenor Ole Hass. Accompanist Pin-Huey Wang joined us on piano.
The concert took place in the beautiful Drawing Room, and the tea dance and reception flowing over into the Library and Dining Room as well as into Meridian House's beautiful Linden Grove where the Biergarten featured Foggy Bottom beer . Savories, desserts, wine, and coffee accompanied three hours of dance music played by the celebrated Con Brio! Quintet. Meridian House is situated a mile from the White House, just off 16th Street on Meridian Hill. Meridian House map and directions, 1630 Crescent Place, NW. Complimentary valet parking began at 2:30. Doors opened at 2:30. Concert seating was in the Drawing Room for first arrivals, with seating in the Loggia and Biergarten for later arrivals.
