PETERBOROUGH RAILWAY TOUR

                                                           
Celebrating 125 Years of Rail

                                                        
Friday 9th June to Monday 12th June

Friday 9th
     Departing Festival Theatre at 9.30 am and travelling via the Barrier Highway, with a leisurely lunch stop in Burra, on to Hallett and a look around the once bustling railway town of Terowie, to Peterborough, arriving mid afternoon, and time to settle into your motel rooms at the Peterborough Motel, where we stay for the next three nights.  Official opening of this special weekend at the Peterborough Art Prize Complex at 6.00 pm.  Dinner is at the motel afterwards.

Saturday 10th
     Some of the main street celebrations arranged include a brass band, displays in several shop windows, and laying of a time capsule representing the Y Class Locomotive.  In the evening, a three course dinner at the Town Hall, hosted by the Rotary Club includes guest speakers, an auction of some commemorative Port, and some light entertainment, but mainly a casual dinner where everyone can meet and talk and catch up on old times.

Sunday 11th
      Today after breakfast at the motel, you are welcome to inspect some of the schools and attend church services.  A BBQ lunch will be available at SteamTown hosted by the Lions Club.  Afterwards is the unveiling of a plaque in the complex here and tours throughout the area.  A BBQ tea will be provided by the Morgan East Golf Club a short drive from Peterborough.

Monday 12th
     A farewell breakfast is availably at the Town Hall from 8.00 am this morning, farewell some old friends, before we board the coach and begin our journey back to Adelaide.  Lunch is in Clare and arrival back in Adelaide by mid afternoon.

This programme may alter as the SteamTown committee includes further events.

All breakfast, lunches and dinners and entry to SteamTown on 11th June.
Any additional events requiring entrance fees will be at own expense.
$50.00 deposit required when booking, Balance paid by 22nd May Meeting.
Tour price and itinerary may be subject to alteration due to any unforseen circumstances
