in at least physical abuse from father and/or mother, and perhaps sexual abuse
as well, but has never been mentioned on the show)

Buffy & Co. - she tried to be friends, but
circumstances and her inability to trust, made things complicated and they
ended up hating each other
Angel - tried to help her time and time again because he
knew where she was coming from

Brief History
Faith was called after Kendra died in season two. Little
is known of her past, except that Kakistos, who she and Buffy killed, killed
her Watcher brutally in front of her. The gang didn't really like her from the
start. Xander was more 'horny' for her than anything else. Willow didn't get a
good vibe from her and Buffy was jealous. However, when she accidentally staked
the Deputy Mayor, thinking he was a vampire, things went wrong. She didn't let
it affect her and Buffy was horrified. Faith went to work for the Mayor to
bring the Scoobies, whom she saw as mean towards her, down, along with the
town. When she poisoned Angel, Buffy went to kill her as the cure for Angel was
slayer's blood. Buffy stabbed Faith during "Graduation Day One" and
Faith fell off a building. She was in a coma for at least eight months, when
she woke in season four during "This Year's Girl." Faith woke
bitterly angry at Buffy, whom she blamed for the entire thing. She went after them
and ending up switching bodies with Buffy, due to a present from the Mayor.
When the bodies were switched back, Faith fled to LA where she was hired by a
law firm to kill Angel. She kidnapped Wesley and tortured him until Angel
showed up, when she had a break down. She stayed with Angel until the Council
showed up to take her back to England, most likely to kill her or lock her up.
But Faith had changed. She went to the police and turned herself in. Faith is
currently in jail, with visits from Angel.

HINTS AND TIPS ON WRITING THIS SLAYER
Clothing
Faith dresses pretty loosely, uninhibited by anything.
She likes tank tops and leather.
Personality
Faith loves to dance and be free. She is a free spirit
and acts on impulse. She loves the kill and slaying and is unafraid to say that
it makes her "hungry and horny." She's also aggressive and feels
betrayed quite often. She's bedded Xander and Riley on the show, and tried to
turn Angel into Angelus to have sex with him as well.
Although the show has never delved into her family past,
it is common theory among authors of Faith fanfic, that she was abused
physically and/or sexually by one or both of her parents (or stepfather,
boyfriend etc…) Faith's pattern and personality seem to fit. She is extremely
untrusting of anyone, especially of men. However she was quick to jump on the
Mayor's bandwagon, which suggests perhaps she was craving positive male
attention? But their relationship seems almost more than daughter-father, which
also suggests an abusive father and a little of the "Oedipus-like"
complex. However, in the end she seemed to identify with Angel the most.

show. However, fanfic often places her with Spike, Angel(us) and Buffy. There
are a few Faith/Cordelia shippers as well as Faith/Lindsey.
