With great sadness, I am going to have to move the website. I cried when I learned that Yahoo is closing the free part of Geocities. As I sit here, I am remebering a teen age adult looking on the internet wondering if this would be the free exchange of information. At that time it was called the information highway. I wanted to be a part of that. I wanted to share a hobby of mine with whomever wanted to learn. I wanted someone to be able to look online and find good, easy to understand instructions. In my vanity, I wanted to write the best crochet instructions ever. My little, ancient website may have done just that. I have seen a resurrengence in the needle arts, in the appreciation for artisians, in the quality of handmade items, and the passing of knowledge from one generation to another. I have been a part of the back to nature and back to basics. I have taught thousands of people to crochet. I have helped thousands hone their skills and to remember what their grandmother taught them when they were a child. I have been a part of something old and wiser than myself. I teach crochet. I just had another baby. My last. I have 2 girls, one 5 years old and one 6 months old. I look forward to sharing with them something that generations of woman have known. I look forward to the future crocheters. This is not the end. It is a move in a different direction. The catalyst for change. I am excited to see what the future holds. What new style are to come. And hear about the quiet mediation a crocheter and knitter knows. It has been and still will be my priviledge to serve your need to create. The years of writing and perfecting were the direct result of your patience and emails. Without you, this would all for nothing. 300 people a day visit this site. You give it meaning. You are the reason why my life long work was created. Thank you. |
