~ On this starlit night, only the moon remained luminous. Trees clumped together in groves and thickets, hardly any space between them. The forest stood tall, cloaked by the veil of darkness. Pale moonlight spilled through the thick clouds, trying to penetrate the wood’s dense foliage in hopes of lighting the night with its lustrous glow. Stars hanging overhead danced and twinkled, gladly contributing their soft light. Leaves swirled and wavered as a gentle wind wafted by, kissing the tree branches tenderly before moving on. The woods proudly sheltered a hidden clearing, though concealed and hard to come by unless the location was told, or stumbled onto…
All this was here to greet you, though not a thing stirred in the forest, as though all living creatures were at rest. But this was not to be; for nothing can silence the ethereal howl of the Wolf. Slowly you padded forward, slightly uneased at the ghostly appearance of the thick wood. This seemingly boreal wooded area held an aura of comfort and tranquility, which captures your interest. Stopping for a moment, you look around amazed at the richness of the soil, the pine scent radiating from the trees, much to the delight of your keen sense of smell. At once your body relaxes at the serene feeling of your surroundings. Your muzzle to the ground, you scent water, and you turn your body in that direction. With strides that are purposeful and swift, you bring yourself to the lake, which was named Mystic Reverie. It was known to be called this, because any creature that looked within its calm, rippling surface, was caught in a trance; an almost dreamlike state in which many spent hours day dreaming… At once, your ears prick and you lift your head, breaking the water’s spell. Your fur begins to bristle, your hackles raised as unfamiliar scents reaches you. But then you realize it was the aroma of other lupines. Trying hard to pierce the shroud of black to see who would disturb you, your attention is caught by that of hard silver eyes, staring right back at you. These held your gaze, and you seem almost mesmerized. You take a pawstep back, almost entering the freezing lake. You were trapped between the lake, and the intense eyes that watched your every move with great intelligence and cunning, seeming to judge your every move. Lifting your tail and holding it aloft, you moved forward to meet the ghostlike lupines. But before you could get to close, the flash of fangs stop you. The silver orbs never blinked as their owner glided forward with grace, never giving the impression of touching the ground. ? Sooner than you could snarl, a majestic looking wolf stood tall before you with midnight fur gleaming in the moonlight, tail arched proudly over her back. Those hard eyes narrowed, as if attempting to evaluate your soul. You gradually unwind, sensing that these wolven were not trying to appear threatening. Silence passed between you and the others. Your forepaws begin to shift uneasily at first, then on the edge of impatience. Finally, the ebony wolf with grey orbs stepped forward, holding herself tall as her maw parted to address you; "I am Shoga Kieran, also known as the Dark One. You have infiltrated my pack boundaries and are before the pack council. The territory you now tread is home to the NightHunters, a pack dedicated to family and the old ways. If you mean us no harm, you are welcomed within the clearing and forest. I am the Alpha, Leader and Caretaker of this pack and land.If you wish to stay with us, so be it." The great wolf moved back, a subtle movement that removed her from your line of vision. Before you lay a path… should you choose to enter this path, you will be submitting to the Alpha and the pack ways. You contemplate hard on your decision, as it could be life-changing. Should you remain a lone wolf and roam without a pack at your side, then veer away and do not look back. However, should you choose to enter, then you are claiming the NightHunters wolf pack as your home and family.~ "On behalf of the NightHunters wolfpack, I welcome you. This pack is dedicated to the bonds of family, ties of steel that will never be broken, for they are forged within the fire of love and loyalty. These wolves are devoted to their pack and family, and are justly called packmates to the pack. This pack was formed to show how packs in the wolfing world should be. It is not about numbers, ranks, or titles. It is about Family. And just that..." ~ Written by Shoga Kieran, NightHunter |
