You and your students have just completed a writing unit on DANGEROUS DRIVING DISTRACTIONS. I hope they enjoyed their tasks and accomplished their mission -- PREVENT A DISTRACTED-DRIVER CRASH.

Consider having students make presentations to other groups of students and adults. Driving distractions is a serious matter and when students feel they are doing something that can make a difference they view their tasks in a positive light.

If students prepared a public service announcement spot, encourage them to present the finished product to a local television station. If they prepared a full-page newspaper announcement, encourage them to present the finished product to a local newspaper for publication. Think of other ways students can extend the influence of their hard work.

STUDENT PAGE
We all benefit from the work of others. Permission is granted to others who wish to use this writing unit with their students as long as the original authorship information is included. Teachers may make changes as necessary to meet the individual needs of their students. If you use this unit, I would like to hear from you about your students' reaction to the unit. Please share with me suggestions you have that would make this unit better.

I set out to complete an assignment for my education course, but I determined to do more than that. I determined to try to be part of making a difference in the lives of students. I hope this unit is used to help students realize that driving is a serious privilege.
