Titanus, the Carrier Zord

Titanus

The ultimate carrier zord, the most amazingly powerful singular zord ever piloted by the Power Rangers. A colossal, gleaming silver and white assault vehicle, armed to the teeth and able to utterly obliterate even the most powerful adversaries on the spot, Titanus was and still is my favourite zord that ever graced our screens on Power Rangers, despite dozens, if not hundreds, of competitors. Whenever the Power Rangers needed a power-up, they'd call on the power of Titanus, and with an almighty roar, the Big T would charge onto the scene and blast anything in his way. When Titanus showed up, the good guys won. That was an absolute, something you could count on.

Gee, I loved the big guy.

We were first introduced to Titanus in episode no. 26, Gung Ho, as the guardian of the super weapons which the teens needed to defeat the Super Putties. Luckily, as Zordon put it, Titanus was really on our side, and from then on, Titanus was the ultimate fighting machine in the arsenal of the Power Rangers, able to combine with the MegaDragonzord to form the invincible and unstoppable DinoUltrazord.

Titanus made his last appearance as a dinozord in episode no. 59, Mighty Morphin' Mutants. Then, with the introduction of the Thunder Zords, Titanus was left dormant for a season. However, during season three, when the Power Rangers were given their Ninja Zords, Titanus was reintroduced by Saban to liven up the zord battles, making not one, not two but three guest appearances.

Firstly, in the episode Final Face-Off (which marked Titanus's first appearance since season one), the Big T combined with the NinjaMegaFalconzord to form the NinjaUltrazord. Then, in the second half of the 'Stop the Hate-Master' two-parter, Titanus again rolled out to help the team. And finally, he joined with the ShogunMegaFalconzord to form the ShogunUltrazord to defeat Dischordia.

But lo and behold, the Ninja and Shogun zords were destroyed, and the show moved on.

However, just when we thought Titanus was gone for good, Saban re-released him (or should that technically be re-re-released?) during the sixth season as an exclusive, once-only toy offer - the Carrier Zord for the Mega Vehicles. Pretty impressive too, from what I hear. But sadly, that's probably the last we'll hear of the Big T, as the show has moved on and all of the older series have been well and truly forgotten.

I, however, refuse to forget the awesome might and sheer power of the one and only carrier zord, the ultimate battle machine, Titanus.
