| ALEXANDER FAMILY TREE |
| Welcome to the Alexander branch of Cheryl's family tree from Mifflin County Pennsylvania. This web page is a link off the Woodcock family home page. All underlined text is clickable. According to records at the Mifflin County Historical Society, the Alexanders in Mifflin County Pennsylvania came from Lanark Scotland. I am still putting my family tree together and will up-date as I type from and scan marriage records, census records and other official information. I'm in the process of typing up a GED file and will connect it to this page when it is done. I have been told that I am connected to James Alexander. Click here for more on James Alexander and the founding of Armagh Township in Reedsville. My mother's family has lived in the Kishacoquillas valley for as long as any of them can remember. The name Alexander goes far back in Scottish history and while this historical information has not been connected to my own family tree, it is interesting information about the surname. Alexander is a sept of the scottish Clan MacAlister. The name MacAlister means "Son of Alexander". We joined the Clan MacAlister at the Celtic Festival at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire grounds on Saturday, July 5 2002. | Pictured here is Jesse Jr.--my grandfather, and his wife--my grandmother--Bertha Fike peeking into a photo booth. She doesn't look too sure about this! Jesse Jr. is the son of Jesse Albert ALEXANDER and Beulah ROWE. Jesse Albert was first married to Kate Sanky before he married Beulah. For a time he was employed as a Stewart at the Lewistown Moose Lodge. Bertha is the daughter of Goldia HARKINS and John FIKE. Jesse Jr. worked as a clerk at Standard Steel works for many years. My grandmother ran a small grocery store out of their home in Honey Brook, Reedsville in the 1940's and 1950's. It was called simply "Alexander's store". Jesse is pictured below goofing around in a photo machine probably somtime in the 1950's. They are all buried at Church Hill in Armagh Township. |

| The picture below on the left is me with my grandmother, Bertha Alexander and my uncle Jesse(Everyone calls him "Bob") Alexander. He looks just like Jesse Sr. above. This picture was taken in 1965, the picture beside that is of my mom and me. |
| Jesse and Bertha had two children, Jesse (Bob) and my mother Gloria N. Alexander shown here. She married my father Gene William GILBERT. The Surname Gilbert is a sept of the Scottish clan BUCHANAN. |
