SARA'S DREAM COMES TO AN END
As the number of girls diminishes each week, the competition is getting tougher. This week the girls got lessons in movement, and were surprised to discover they would be dancing in Tyra Banks' debut music video, "Shake Ya Body." In the toughest elimination yet, the judges chose to cut Sara , the 22-year-old hostess from Seattle, Washington, because they felt she didn't have the refined sexuality that would make her a versatile top model.

THE COMPETITION BECOMES TOUGHER
Catie's departure last week makes Yoanna , the 23-year-old babysitter from Jacksonville, Florida, realize that the tables can turn at any time. There are only six girls remaining, and Camille , the 25-year-old student from Mamaroneck, New York, is taking all of the critiques of the past weeks and trying not to talk over people as much. Shandi , the 21-year-old Walgreen's clerk from Kansas City, Missouri, finds comfort in talking to her boyfriend, Eric. They have been dating for almost two years, and Shandi considers him her best friend.

Winning AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL is a dream for Sara, the 22-year-old hostess from Seattle, Washington. She tells us that she has always run away from situations that intimidate her, but she wants to win this more than anything because she knows she can do it. Yoanna's "dream is to be in indie European magazines." This is her passion and she has wanted it since she was a little girl. When asked by Yoanna if she would choose acting or modeling, April , the 23-year-old corporate business account manager from Miami Beach, Florida, tells her that she views "modeling as acting and modeling as the base of acting." Yoanna begins to worry that April might just be in the competition for the sake of winning it rather than because it is her passion. Yoanna says, "Personally, if April were to win this competition, I would be devastated."

LEARNING TO MOVE
The next day, the girls receive Tyra Mail that instructs them to get ready to expend a lot of energy. They are taken to Empire Dance, Inc. dance studio, where they meet Tony Michaels, a renowned choreographer. He is going to teach them about movement, explaining that dancers and models have "so much in common. Our bodies are our instruments." Movement is so important, he says, because a photographer does not want to book a model and then have to give her constant direction.

Sara is quickly worried. She has a bad knee and is worried that it might act up. Tony then tells the girls to step forward, one by one, and dance "sexy" for him. Sara is first and moves a lot from the waist up. Tony tells her that no matter what she did, her eyes were cast down, and she needs to connect through her eyes. Camille gets down on the floor and slithers around. Mercedes , the 22-year-old waitress from Valencia, California, says that Yoanna's dancing fits her style, "kinda kooky and crazy."

Shandi's turn arrives and Tony quickly notes, "When you look at Shandi, you don't think top model right off the bat. But, after a second glance you see, wow, she's got it." The girls note that Shandi is starting to break out of her shell. Next, the girls have to use Tony and dance around him as if he were a model. Shandi is the only girl that "does levels," meaning she was dancing up around his face, but she also crouched down and worked around his legs. After the lessons, Tony lets all the girls know that "Shandi is passing every test."

COMING OUT OF HER SHELL
Upon returning home, Shandi receives a package from her boyfriend with pictures that make Shandi feel "really loved." When she calls to thank him, Eric lets her know he is going to a movie with their mutual friend, Lauren, who is married and has kids. Shandi gets jealous and breaks down in tears. Going to the movies is Shandi and Eric's special thing, and she says, "It really hurt when he said that."

Shandi, Camille, Mercedes and Sara all decide to go out to a club called "The Show" to let off some steam. Much to Shandi's surprise, a boy starts talking to her and giving her compliments. He is really persistent, Shandi says, and keeps asking for her phone number, to no avail. Mercedes says it was nice that Shandi met someone "real."

LEARNING THE MOVES
The next day they are brought back to the studio, where they meet with Tony Michaels again. Right off the bat, Tony says that he went home last night, and one thing stuck in his mind: April needs to step up and bring it to a new level for her to compete. Tony will teach them a short routine and whoever does it the best will get to hang out with a few music celebrities at dinner.

After a bit of rehearsal, the competition begins. Tony says Sara "is sexual and she just oozes that, but is more like a swimsuit model or a calendar model." She is the first person eliminated from the dance competition. Girls are asked to step out until only Camille and April are left. For Tony, April "executed the routine amazingly," and is crowned the winner. After winning two competitions in two weeks, Mercedes definitely thinks that April is a big threat.

April's prize for winning is dinner with ODB (Ol' Dirty Bastard), RZA and Kinetic from the Wu-Tang Clan. She gets to choose two girls to go with her, and she chooses Sara and Shandi.

DINNER WITH WU-TANG
Once back at the loft, Shandi calls her boyfriend to tell him about the boy that was hitting on her in the club. Eric asks for details, and says it's very hypocritical of her to get upset because he went to a movie with a girl while she goes out and flirts with a guy at a club. He asks her if she told the guy she had a boyfriend, and she says, "No, I didn't." Eric hangs up on her.

That night, April, Shandi and Sara go out to dinner with their three guests from Wu-Tang Clan. Shandi isn't sure how her boyfriend is going to take it, but she is just going to have fun. Throughout the night, she starts to connect with Kinetic. Even April noticed how well they got along. Back in the limo, Shandi and Kinetic cuddle a little bit and she thinks, "It is so sweet."

SHAKE YA BODY!
The next morning the girls get Tyra Mail that tells them to get ready to "Shake Ya Body." They are taken to a sound stage where they learn that they are going to be dancing in a music video for the debut single for Tyra Banks! The girls are thrilled be part of something so special for Tyra. Tyra lets us know that everyone sees her as a model, and now she is nervous because she is moving into the world of recording artist. Their director, Kennedy, lets them know it is going to be a really long day, so they should be prepared.

Tyra does some of her scenes first with her new song playing in the background. For the first segment, each model will walk down the runway and strike a pose. For the second part of the video, each girl, dressed in tight, sexy clothing, will get a shot to dance solo for the camera. Shandi is up first and lets loose--even Tyra gets excited. The director feels Sara "is thinking too much." He is really impressed with Camille and her presence. Yoanna has trouble finding the beat and falls flat on the floor. Mercedes forgets the choreography, but keeps going. After dancing, April tells us, "For once in my life, I can honestly say this competition is not just about winning for me, it's something that my heart really desires."

Watch the "Shake Ya Body" video

Going into this week's elimination, the girls have no idea what to expect. With only six girls left, it is getting harder and harder. Sara says that she knows for a fact that she wants this more than any of the other girls. Camille, who has been one of the bottom two for the past two weeks, says she can't go into this already doubting herself because if she does, she's already lost. Yoanna feels that all the girls need to be multi-dimensional, because they never know what the judges are going to throw at them. April is in tears talking to her boyfriend on the phone, telling him she really wants to win. It is her passion, and to have it so close and possibly be sent home is very hard.

MEETING THE JUDGES
The girls are brought in to meet the judges. Since there was no photo shoot this week, the girls will be judged on how well they did in the music video. Tyra reminds them that they are being judged not only on their performance in the video, but also on their overall look, skill and potential to be a top model. The judges this week are Janice Dickinson, Eric Nicholson, Nigel Barker and guest judge Tony Michaels.

Each girl is brought up for her individual critique. Shandi is called up first. After watching Shandi dance in the music video, Tyra says, "I don't think anyone would ever think that Shandi has that much soul!" It was the sexiest that Nigel has ever found Shandi. Camille is told that she has a lot of fire inside her, but she is holding back. When it comes to Sara and her dancing, Janice says it is somewhere between a "bad music video backup dancer and a belly dancer at a Greek restaurant." Mercedes is called on the fact that she didn't do the choreography. April is told by Janice that she looks like she has an upset stomach and she needs to go to the emergency room, but Tony disagrees, saying that her dancing was "strong." Yoanna, who fell during her routine, is told that she looks like a flapper girl and needs to find the rhythm.

The judges meet in private to deliberate on who must be cut. They seem to agree that Mercedes stays in. Nigel says that Yoanna has a beautiful face, but she falters when it comes to movement and for him, she is out. Sara gets knocked by Janice again for her "belly dancing" moves, but Tyra thinks that she is the only one in this competition that could stand next to her and Heidi in a Victoria's Secret spread and fit right in. Eric worries that Sara could go way "down market" and start doing beer commercials. Nigel wants to see more sex appeal out of April. Tony thinks that April is the one that wants it the most and has the drive. Camille gets high marks from the judges, especially for her attitude this week. The judges think that Shandi has a face for now and for the future.

EMOTIONS RUN HIGH AS SOMEONE GOES HOME
The girls are brought back in to find out who is going home. One by one the girls are called forward to receive their pictures, until only Yoanna and Sara are left.

Yoanna is told that in the video she was all over the place and unfocused. Sara is told that out of all the girls, she is the sexiest. But, the judges are "starting to wonder if her sexuality is the type of sexuality that would only be good in the top men's magazines right now or is a sexuality that transcends to women."

With emotion in her voice, Tyra tells the girls that this cut is especially difficult because, "I'm starting something new in my life; something that I'm putting myself out there for the world to put me in the position that you all are in now. So, who am I to stand up here and tell you that you have to leave when I'm starting something that the whole world is going to criticize me?" With that, Tyra hands Yoanna her picture and tells her she is still in the running to becoming AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL.

Before Yoanna can even get her picture, Sara starts to weep and all the girls go over and hug and cry with her. Tyra hugs her and whispers, "I'm sorry." With tears in her eyes and mascara running down her face, Sara resolutely tells us that modeling is her dream and she isn't going to let this stop her from achieving it.
