Raw Cacao Nibs - If possible I eat these most days. I'm a self-confessed chocoholic & these hit the spot for me without the need to give in & eat refined sugar. Years ago when I used to buy organic fruits from Orcos & I ordered a whole Cacao pod. I split it open, peeled off these weird white mush-coated alien beans & ground them up. Oh the lengths we will got to! The raw Cacao bean contains LOADS of minerals, anti-depressants, has aphrodisiac properties & much much more. There are lots of ways to use them Bee Pollen - a great source of B vitamins, especially for vegans. Ground up & sprinkled over foods, or used with the Cacao, they taste great & are a great energy food. Any high nutrient food like Cacao or bee pollen are super rich when used raw & untreated. It doesn't make sense not to eat them! Xylitol - a safe sugar subsitute. Tastes kinda like sugar & looks like sugar, but somehow manages to help clean your teeth, doesn't ferment (great for candida), is good for osteoporosis & doesn't affect your insulin levels (safe for diabetes). I'm a big fan of superfoods (any food which is nutrient rich & raw, meaning you don't need much of it & the results are tangible), they can give you lots of energy & mental clarity, or calm - all in just a teaspoon! I believe it's the human condition to seek altered states - we've just got used to abusing that search on a regular pub-like basis. Here's a new era of natural highs :) There are many to explore - goji berries, maca, mesquite powder, purple corn etc .... Happy nibbling! |
I've come to believe that how you live, your state of mind & HOW you eat is almost more important than what you eat. That said, organic, nutrient rich, unprocessed & fresh natural foods are the best building blocks to grace you with mental peace & physical strength. My angle is more about getting stuff out, than putting stuff in - you can't find health in a pill pot! Systematic undereating & regular cleansing (colonics, enemas, fasting & herbs) are the keys to health & timelessness. The things i reeaallly believe in avoiding include microwaves, vaccinations, flesh foods, aspartame, bagged salads, bleached table salt, white flour, milk & refined sugar.
