| Halo Review If you aren't expecting much from Halo, then you are going to be surprised on how well made the game is. Halo for Xbox is one of the greatest things to happen in video games in many years. The story is extremely well written and diverse. With great music, sound effects, and excellent visual details, Halo is a great gift for any child. Halo features high intense battles, a variety and well balanced of human based weapons and covenant based weapons. First person action and third person action while driving vehicles. A diverse vehicle list including a jeep with a machine gun on the back to a flying vehicle that shoots plasma. Smart AI with squad based tactics. Play story mode alone or cooperative mode with a friend. The story takes place in the far future where mankind are in a brutal war against an evil race known as the Covenant. The Covenant have been killing mankind for years and have been inching closer and closer to Earth. But the sole survivor of an class of elite soldiers known as Spartans is here to stop the Covenant at their tracks, along with hundreds of Marines. Captain Keyes lures the Covenant as far away from Earth as possible. When they jump out of light speed they are instantly attacked by Covenant and boarded killing every human in sight. The captain brings John the last Spartan out of cryostasis. That is when you pick up the controller and are immediately put into battle. The gameplay is unbelievable, after beating the game a first time you will want to play the game over and over again. With millions of rounds fired before the end of the game, you have never played a game this fast paced. There are a handful of enemies you will face during the game. Starting with the easiest the grunts, and the Jackals. The top rank are the Elites, and the toughest of the enemies are the Hunters which you see only a few times during a level. The Grunts are easy to kill with only needing a few rounds to kill them with. The Jackals hold a shield which protect them from being shot, but once you are close enough you just need to melee them a few times before they die. The Elites come in a few different forms. The first form is when they are blue which takes less rounds then the other forms. You encounter him either visible or cloaked. The red Elites are a little bit stronger and you don't see them cloaked. The yellow Elites are by far the toughest to kill, especially if they are wielding a sword that can kill you in 1 hit. The hunters are the toughest to kill since they are covered from head to toe in armor. They either fire a weapon at you which can kill you in 1 or 2 shots, or they try to ram you. They are easy to dodge. How you play the game is how your Spartan is designed. with your limited space to carry only 2 weapons keeps the game balanced. Human weapons include, an assault rifle, a pistol, shotgun, sniper rifle and rocket launcher. Covenant weapons you are allowed to use are, the plasma pistol, plasma rifle and needler. Each weapon has a unique rate fire and damage percentage for each round. The balance of the weapons is better then any game ever seen before. The vehicles are revolutionary, seamlessly go from first personto third person. the Warthog is a jeep with a driver seat, a sideseat, and on the back a spot for someone to use a machinegun that never runs out of ammo. The Scorpion a tank with 1person driving and firing the main cannon and the machinegun. There are four side seats on the side, but are easy targetsto shoot. Theghost is a covenant vehicle that hovers a couplefeet off the ground. Its only a 1 person vehicle and it firesplasma at a fast rate. Its the fastest vehicle in the game. Thelast vehicle you can drive is the Banshee. Its a flying vehiclefor only 1 person. It has a main cannon that fires a huge shotof plasma and a secondary fire that shoots plasma at rapidrate. The level design of the levels are totally original ranging from small hallways to huge outdoor areas. The Co-op mode lives up to its hype and is one of the best features of the game. Playing 16 player LAN is amazing, with all the strategy you need to use and all the teamwork. The graph ice are the best seen ever on a console to date. The music flows perfectly with the game.
