UPDATES

Please check here for the latest updates. I'll post the dates with the pages that have changed to make it easier to find the new things. Only updates in the current year will be posted or the page gets too long. Besides.....if this is your first trip here,it will all be new anyway!!

... January 30 2007. Here I am at the beginning of year 2007. I have not made any additions for some time; however, this year I mean to remedy that. Tasks for this year include......

(A) .....a new section to showcase my newest hobby of working with polymer clay, wire and metal, as well as fibers to create my own jewelry. Please click on the link below this introduction section.

(B) .... finish the stories I've begun.

(C) .... At this point I am not sure what will be happening with the Garden Journals. I have not been very attentive to my gardens and in fact have given up two with a possible two more going this year. I don't have the time now that I am putting my efforts into the jewelry.

GARDEN JOURNALS

COME IN AND WANDER ALONG MY GARDEN PATHS.

Along the paths, you'll find helpful hints that I've used in my gardens both inside and out. Some of the things that worked and things that didn't.

I would like to try a journal of what's happening as well. My garden is located beside a lake in South Central Ontario, Canada. We are about two hours north-east of Toronto. I am officially in the 5b area on the Plant Hardiness Zone maps. Because we live beside the lake, the weather is tempered somewhat in the fall, and we don't get frost quite as soon as some people. On the other hand, the wind blows across the ice in the winter and I cannot grow roses, as they just dry right up. Other than a good layer of leaves in the fall, I do not baby any of the plants, so what doesn't make it on its own, doesn't stay long.

I have installed some little music boxes on the pages near the top. Please don't hesitate to push the "stop" button, if you prefer not to listen to them. The sources for my midis can be found on the "Links and Kudos" page.

MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME WITH A CUP OF HERB TEA AND A SCONE.

You can find some easy recipes here to make your own herb teas.
Scones taste lovely with an herbed butter or jam.

FIND A GOOD BOOK TO READ OR A CRAFT TO WORK ON, AND ENJOY YOUR VISIT.

You can find a list here of my favorite books.

On the craft page I have put in some small things that do not take long to make.

STORIES

ON THESE PAGES,I am just having fun.I'm also largely ignoring the "rules of good page construction" as outlined in my manual.
People who do repetitive jobs will understand that once your hands and eyes learn the patterns, your mind can pretty much take a holiday.Besides; there are no rules when it comes to imagining all kinds of things.

LACE PAGES

The old art of LACE MAKING is my newest craft. For Christmas my Cousin Anthea gave me a membership to the Lace Guild in England. I have been interested in laces for a long time but have always been a little afraid to try the more intricate forms. I have taught myself crocheted lace and after many frustrating attempts at tatting, finally found someone who showed me where I was making mistakes, and now have managed to make a few pieces. My Cousin sent me some bobbins to make bobbin lace and though it is a very slow process the results can be lovely. In the new year I hope to learn more about lace and its various forms. Watch Knots and Lace for my progress, and I will will have pictures and updates as soon as possible. I shall also post sites of friends with pages dedicated to laces as well. Just a note....... I've used the Kelly Ann Gothic font for the titles and links, as it has a lacey look.. If you do not have this font the titles will show as regular type face.

LINKS AND GUEST ROOM

Here are some LINKS to take you to my favorite sites and back again. There are people here who have been kind enough to allow the use of the gifs and backgrounds they have created. There are friends I have made, and places of interest to visit.

Welcome to MY GUEST ROOM . You may go here if you would like to leave a message in my Guest Book, or if you prefer, you may send an e-mail. You may also view entries in the book and perhaps find new friends and interesting places to visit. I shall be glad to reply to your messages. The page is still under construction,so it looks a little unfinished. Please be patient.

This web site has been built using Microsoft Internet Explorer, and this might result in some differences if viewed using Netscape. I have checked some of it with Netscape and have not found too much difference. A few of the colors are a little different and some of the type is not the same, or columns are a little out of line, but the page as a whole has all its parts. On many of the pages, I've used fonts that you may not have installed, so if a page seems unusually plain that may be the reason.
