So, a bit about me. What can I say? I'm an aglophile who wants to adopt an english accent and cultural identy and then move to Italy, where i love the atmosphere. I love all the following and then some: The Beatles, Monty Python ("Nobody expects a Spanish Inquistion!"), black and white movies, The West Wing, Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart, Harry Potter books, Bridget Jones (the book, although with colin firth and hugh grant, the movie was excellent as well), Florence, and, like many of you, learning everything about anything that sparks my interest. Looking forward (with a hint of anxiety) to spreading my wings and flying out of the parental nest and joining you all at U of Chicago this fall. Please IM or e-mail me anytime, even if you don't have much to say; as you can see, I'm very verbose and am capable an using more words and saying less than many people I know.

Hi, everyone! That should be I in the picture above, pretending to be a model while my dad takes a snapshot :). I can't wait to meet all of you. I'm
probably not as intellectual as some of you, although I do love to learn. I
know a little bit about a lot, but not a lot about any one thing--a situation I
hope to remedy in Chicago. I am open to new and interesting ideas and
experiences, although I have led a pretty sheltered life so far. I like to
read--my room resembles a library, a friend recently remarked--but nothing
weighty, just popular fiction and such. This summer, I am working at the
Habitat for Humanity through the VISTA program and spending my free time
exercising at the gym and hanging out with my friends. No, I'm not a fitness
freak; I just want to be fit and athletic for Chicago--new city, new me kind of
thing. I hope to find an exercise buddy in Chicago: any girls (or guys)
interested in jogging/going to the gym a couple of times a week? Well, anyway,
feel free to e-mail or IM me. I'd really like to get to know some of you
better before O-week. See you in September!

I'm from Connecticut, which is a little suburb of New York City (yeah that?s right the whole state is a suburb) and I'm sort of bored out of my mind with Border?s rivaling the cinema for best place to spend a Saturday night. I?m also looking forward to Chicago, hoping everyone's a little more forward thinking. CT was founded by people who thought the puritans were a bunch pinco-liberals, you know. In spite of this I think I know how to have a good time. Besides the movies, I like driving around with my friends, shopping-cart-bowling in Wal-Mart, going places (like Bolivia), watching curling on ESPN 7+ or whatever station plays it (ok maybe this one is only fun under certain circumstances), working (cause I have a good job at a factory and it?s the greatest rush operating heavy machinery with full knowledge of how many ways you could possibly lose your life within the next millisecond), leaving people voicemail messages in other languages, and the rest of the average teenage stuff that falls in these categories. It will be fun to meet all you in September, I'm really looking forward to knowing if there are other smart people who can balance their smartness with their coolness.

Ok so I'm not THAT pale in real life... this photo has been altered using
Photoshop (in order to see the real me, you'll have to wait until Sept 21st!).
My main interests lie in music (Opera) and in dance (Ballroom/Latin), which means that I probably have a lot more in common with your grandparents than I do with you all *I write as I look down at my clothes and realize that they used to belong to my grandmother*. Anyway, trying to write a whole paragraph about myself feels self-indulgent (not to mention the fact that it takes a lot of effort), so I'm just going to say that I am very excited to be going to UofC and I can't wait to meet everyone in September!

Well, let's see. I'm into music--rock, punk, alt, techno, classic rock, all that good stuff. If you're into seeing concerts in small overpacked clubs, we should hook up sometime and check out the House of Blues or Metro. I'm a volleyball player, yes a male volleyball player, and it kinda sucks that U of C doesn't carry a mens team. Oh well, I'll live. I'm looking forward to getting out of St. L and meeting some new people, especially the girls seeing as I spent high school with 850 guys and oh wait, zero girls in my school.

Hello everyone! I am very excited to be attending U.Chicago and to be a member of what so far seems to be a great incoming class. On the topic of
ethnicity,I'm half lebonese and half Greek. I'm Christian Orthodox, and have
grown up in the Greek Orthodox Church. My hobbies include: READING(gotta love
it),writing, sea kayaking, tennis, swimming, backpacking, cooking/baking,
occasionally birdwatching, dancing(not very well:),photography, frisbee, and
chess.I love music- all kinds of music, but jazz has a special place in my
heart. I also enjoy Emo, folk, bluegrass, reggae, and just about everything
else aside from hard core rock/rap. I am planning on joining the crew team and
the Christian Orthodox Fellowship group on campus.I also hope to write for one
of the campus newspapers/journals (The Maroon). For a career, I'd like to
pursue journalism abroad or in the states or go on to law school, focus on
immagration law, and basically keep it real:) Take care, guys! Can't wait for
September!

Major: I was thinking Philosophy way back when, but now I'm open to whatever grabs me
I am, obviously, a human life form (or at least I think I
am...). Actually, I am a Christian, so my beliefs are pretty solid as to what
is the Truth and what is not. I am in a long-term relationship that I pray one
day will become marriage, but we're letting our 11 hour separation be the first
real test of our strenth with one another. I love to play and listen to music
(Jazz, folk/bluegrass, classic rock, etc.), love to play CHESS, racquetball
some, love lots of art forms, and love the Truth. I came to Chicago to explore
the Truth to a greater extent and to do it with people such as yourself.
