::: L.C.V.I. (Little Chalfont Village Idiot) ::: 'a legend in my own lifetime' : uk400 club online. Meet L GR Evans uk400 club.

This website is dedicated to my most treasured friends - Jenny Taylor and Mike Hunt who are no longer with us, but still remain in normal font on the most comprehensive and authoritative of listings.

After a severe delay in development due to usual unforeseen circumstances, production has been completed culminating in this impressive website. This has not been possible without the help of so many people within the birding fraternity but most of all I extend my sincere thanks to my long suffering chocolate bar Caramel.

In particular I wish to thank all those who have shared the unbelievable experiences with me whilst suffering over inflated petrol prices on my behalf.

Birdwatching has forever been an intimate part of my life. Even at an early age I realised that I was obsessed and now pride myself in being at the forefront of British birdwatching - I am.... even if I may say so myself... a legend in my own lifetime.

During my phenomenal career, I have achieved an unbroken run of recording 300 species in a calendar year since 1968, travelling just over 11.63 million miles on British roads including the impressive achievement of holding the British land speed record on the A9.

It is only inevitable with such impressive feats as detailed above, I pride myself in more impressive achievements - during my birding career I have found well in excess of 100 rare vagrants to Britain including no less than 5 Yellow-billed Cuckoos, 6 American Golden Plovers, 6 Lesser Grey Shrikes, 6 Black Kites, 12 Wilson's Petrels, 6 Blyth's Pipits, 6 Blyth's Reed Warblers and numerous Savi's Warblers on an annual basis at an undisclosed site in Sussex.

Though I have a special interest in vagrants (especially males of eastern origin in full attire), I meticulously write down every single individual I see with my eye and keep a daily log.

For a special pre-publication price of 78.95 pounds I invite you to order a copy of my latest book detailing my most precious of memories including that the adrenalin rush when I found each of my 5 Yellow-billed Cuckoos, the pride I felt when I showed everybody the Black-winged Pratincole at Minsmere when they were watching it already for themselves and the adrenalin pumping experiences in June 1971 on Lundy and that famous May day at Cley in 1993. This publication, titled LCVI - a legnd in his own lifetime of insanity will be personally inscribed with each lucky reader gaining a limited edition copy of the book.

If you would like to add further to this website do not hesitate to contact LCVI with ideas on uk400clubonline@yahoo.com and, due to my continuing lack of ability to work and get things done on time, I will unfortunately won't be able to respond personally to your ideas. Good ideas, however, will be immediately processed and shown on this site (so give it four years before theres an update if my track record is anything to go by). his website is dedicated to my most treasured friends - Jenny Taylor and Mike Hunt who are no longer with us, but still remain in normal font on the most comprehensive and authoritative of listings.
