Description: In a lot of ways, Aoshi is a man of great honor, being the leader of the Oniwabanshu group. But in many other ways, he's pretty evil and selfish. He first met Kenshin when he was hired by Kanryu to capture Megumi so she could continue making opium for him. After being defeated by Kenshin and his group killed, he went mad. He disappeared, developed a strength in the double kodachi technique, reappeared in Kyoto, teamed up with Makoto Shishio, and had a rematch with Kenshin. That match brought all his madness to an end, and also gave him a wake up call. He finally realized that he was only fighting for himself and no one else. He accepted defeat and joined with the good guys. He even helped in the defeat of Makoto Shishio. After that, he stayed in Kyoto with Misao and became the caring Oniwabanshu leader once again.

Description: Soujiro is a very very skilled swordsman. He also uses a technique which makes him the fastest swordsman around,(moved faster than even Kenshin!!!). Anyway, Soujiro is yet another person with an uneasy past. As a child, he was taken by an extreme family. They made him do so many chores, he was practically a slave. But the odd thing was, Soujiro always smiled. He figured that if they see him happy, they wouldn't be as hard on him. Until one day, he ran into a skilled swordsman with severe burns. This swordsman was Makoto Shishio. In turn for Soujiro's service for sheltering and treating his burns, Shishio gave him a sword to kill his family. He did so, and Shishio decided to have Soujiro as his right hand fighter. He's so natural with a sword that it could only be a gift given from the heavens. He also follows Shishio's philosophy, "If you're strong you live...if you're weak, you die."

Description: This girl is involved with Aoshi of the Oniwabanshu, naturally making her a member of the group. Throughout the series, you learn that she is deeply in love with Aoshi, and would do just about anything for him. Her search for him is how she met with Kenshin. She met him while going to run errands, and also to search for Aoshi. Ever since then, she's been helping Kenshin and his gang, especially at the Aoiya fight against the Juppon Gatana. Overall she's a sweet girl, and quite the fighter. She is worthy of the Oniwabanshu.
