Based on the two readings: "Early Computing Devices" and "Early Computing Devices" from chapter 5 in Looking Ahead level 3 you will learn different topics of grammar (present tense,past tense, subject-agreememt, chronological markers) and build up your vocabulary through the different activities presented in this page.

Reading: "Early Computing Devices"
Vocabulary
1. Word family Based on the reading of "Early Computing Devices", you need to fill-in the blanks with the correct family word.  Family words are essential to develop your vocabulary repertoire, however it can be tricky to know how to use them in the correct context. 
     
2. Vocabulary-Definition After reading a passage of "Early Computing Devices", you can match the vocabulary of the text and their definition.
     
Grammar
3. Simple past The simple past allows you to describe something happened in the past. In this exercise, you can practice the Simple Past by filling the blanks with the appropriate verbs and their forms in simple past.
     
4.Chronological organizers Chronological organizers indicate the sequence in which an event takes place. They mark the past or present tense in a sentence.
     
     
Reading: Math Without Fear"
Vocabulary 
5. Text Vocabulary  As you do this crossword , you will get familiar with some vocabulary that are useful to you when writing about Math fear or any fear.
     
6. Vocabulary-Definition You will get more practice of the vocabulary by matching the vocabularies related to Math fear with their definitions.

7..Subject-verbAgreement Based on "Math Without Fear", you can fill in the gaps with the correct form of the verbs in the present tense. 
     
8.Subject-verb agreement Based on the reading, you are going to practice more about subject-verb agreement in simple present tense.
     
9. Personal Pronouns Funct Personal Pronouns can replace nouns and noun phrases. They allow you to connect sentences without repeating the same nouns and noun phrases. You need to know their functions in the sentences before replacing them by personal prnouns. In this exercise, you have to match the appropriate functions of the nouns and their personal pronouns.
     
Reading: "Power in Mathematics"

10. Vocabulary-Definition Studying Mathematics opens to many opportunities, you should be familiar to vocabularies related to the Power in Mathematics.
     
11. Verbs-Definitions Here are some common verbs in academic writing, you will have to match the verbs with their definitions based on the reading of "Power of Mathematics"
     
Grammar
 12.Present Perfect The present perfect is used to describe an event that happened in the past and continues in the present time.  In this exercise, you will practice to recognize the form of present tense of the verbs.
     
13. Present to Past tense It is a good practice to find the verb(s) in a sentene and change it or them in simple past. In this  multiple-choice answer activity, you will find the corresponding sentences in simple past that are initially in present tense. 
     
14. Sub-Verb-Agree Mix In multiple-choice answer exercise, you will see the different categories of subject-verb-agreeement. They are essential in academic writing skill. 
     
15. Personal Pronouns Personal pronouns are used to replace nouns and noun phrases. They help to tie sentences together in a unified whole. In this multiple-choice answer exercise, you will have to choose the correct form of the personal pronouns.
