VI. THE LUXURY This particular Trans Am was very well loaded, almost fully loaded. The only thing this car didn’t get was the GTA upgrade, the better stereo, and the higher gear ratio in the rear end. RPO is an abbreviation for Regular Production Options. There was a tag attached to the inside of the console, which had every RPO code available for your car. Here is what the RPO tag looks like: |

As you can see from the tag found under the dash, it gives a few RPO codes from the console tag. It also tells the time when the tag was printed: December 1, 1987 at 23:58, or 11:58PM. The VIN found on the lower drivers’ side of the windshield gives some vital car information along with the production sequence number. Here is the breakdown of the VIN off of my car: |
