The heated fuel tank is the biggest cost variable. It can be anything from an expensive custom made fuel tank on down. I looked for something that was readily availabe and I came up with this -------> outboard motor, marine fuel tank. This is a cheap way to put a heated coil into a tank without having to cut holes into the tank and seal them back up.This only works if the fuel cap comes off with a quarter turn. I like useing outboard motor tanks, but there are better ways to put a heating coil into one and there are better tanks that can be made from readily available materials. When I make my improved version, I'll let you know. |

Ok, here's an improved version . This is another salvaged, metal marine tank |
Having built a system that works like I want it to, my focus has turned to making it easier to fill and making less of a mess. This fill port allows me to fill the tank without standing over it with a fuel can, possibly overfilling it This has helped keep the car clean and made filling much easier. |
Any overflow comes out the vent and flows into a container. When this happens it's time to stop filling. |
