Before oil can be used it needs to be filtered. Oil filters are readily available and I use my old oil filters for the first stage so they are basically free
The tank I found has an exit on the bottom. You can see the hose coming off the bottom,  going into the first filter, which is usually the cheapest filter I can find (if I don't have a used one handy.)
It then flows into the second filter, which is a high quality wix filter, then through the black hose into the container.
Wix oil filters for a VW diesel go down to about 25 microns. This is about as low as I can go without heating the oil..The heated WIX brand diesel fuel filter that I have on the vegy line goes down to 10 microns
The VW diesel oil filter mount comes off the block with three bolts I bolted the filter mounts to a piece of 5/16" steel.
The switch was an attempt to turn the air compressor on and keep it above a certain pressure. It was put in the wrong place. If a filter clogged it would drop the pressure and keep the pump going. The pressure should be monitored at the tank for safety.
Some of the benefits of useing  compressed air to push the oil through the filters are:
1. No expensive pumps are needed
2. Compressed air is readily available.
3. The pump never comes in contact with the oil so no cleaning is needed.
Nearly all air compressor tanks have a water drain on the bottom that can be used like my tank but few are as easy to fill as my flame thrower tank.
