Here are a few of the many sights one can see without even leaving Reykjavík. The full size statue of Leifr Eiricsson pictured above was gifted to Iceland by the United States on the one thousandth anniversary of the Alþing in 1930. It stands before the largest church in Iceland. Like the other Nordic countries, Iceland is Lutheran. In the upper right is one of the national government buildings.
