CAMPBELL
Jimmie's maternal great great Grandmother CLARK was Eleanor who is believed to be a CAMPBELL. She was the wife of Alexander CLARK of Cheraw, Chesterfield CO., SC. After Alexander's death, Eleanor with four sons and two grand daughters named Campbell moved to Kemper CO., MS to join her son Daniel who was already in Kemper Co., where tax records show him to be a property owner in 1842. On their way to MS. Eleanor her four sons and two grand daughters had a brief stop over in Green Co., AL. Daniel married Rebecca Jane Vernon and they lived in the Gholson/Kellis Store area of Kemper CO., MS. Daniel and Rebecca are the parents of James Edward Clark whose wife was Willie Ann Hopper the mother of Maggie Lee Clark who is Jimmie's mother. We are searching for the ancesters of Alexander and his wife Eleanor CAMPBELL(?) CLARK.
If you are willing to share, we would love to have the opportunity to learn all we can about your CAMPBELL family. We have found that this work is like a hugh jig saw puzzle. Other pieces of family history, such as yours, may shead light on our research in unknown and unpredictable ways and vice versa.
