    Wesley Mercer's paternal great great grandfather Dixon MERCER's second wife Lousia GARRETT ancestors and descendants.


    This is a partial chart of Wesley Mercer's b. 1927, Macon GA., paternal great great grandfather Dixon MERCER's second wife Louisa GARRETT's ancestors and descendants. We are searching for the ancesters and descendants of Louisa GARRETT. We do not at this time know her parents names.
    If you are willing to share, we would love to have the opportunity to learn all we can about your GARRETT family. We have found that this work is like a hugh jig saw puzzle. Other pieces of family history, such as yours, may shead light on our research in unknown and unpredictable ways and vice versa.     We would appreciate any help you may be able to give us with finding Louisa GARRETT's family and particularly her daughter Georgia Ann MERCER. Louisa GARRETT is Wesley's great great step grandmother about whom we know only that she was married to Dixon Mercer and was the mother of Georgia Ann MERCER half sister of Wesley's great grandfather John Wesley B. Mercer.
    Here is the descendancy from Dennis MERCER. We have nine MERCER generations before Dennis and the MERCER generations that follow to the present; but, these generations do not bear directly on Louisa Garrett and her daughter Georgia Ann Mercer.

    Note 1. When Dixon Died in 1855 his sister Delphia MERCER-640 (1802-1877) and her husband John Thomas Chivers of Jeffersonville Twiggs CO., GA., became the legal guardian of Caroline, Sarah, and John Wesley and raised them. We believe that Lousia Garrett, Dixon's second wife returned to her mother's home in Pulaski CO., GA with Georgia Ann. We do not know any more about this family.
    Thanks for any help you may be able to give us with respect to Louisa GARRETT and her daughter Georgia Ann Mercer. We wish we had more information but at this time we do not.
