| A short story about the death of Richard Bullock. In the story about the death of Richard Bullock, it says that he was shot through a window, by his son, while sitting on a piano stool holding his grandson. The son was upset that his father was marrying his housekeeper, a Mrs. Baker. Which son has not been established. Richard's daughter, Minerva, had a warrant issued for her. She was at a neighbor's house and escaped through the back door, but went to the sherriff's office the next day. The trial record has not been found. It says in court records she either knew something about the shooting, or witnessed it. It took years to settle Richard Bullock's estate, due to underage children and it seems some of the land disappeared. Richard Bullock was a Justice of the Peace and a Tax Lister in Granville County, North Carolina. |
