Right now I have only the very basic, but very important rules that I live by up here. Most are Wiccan, even though I don't consider myself Wiccan (I am a Witch, though), but some are adapted to the beliefs that I've held all my life. Eventually I'll have full explanations of my interpretations of these beliefs and how they're applied to my life. I may put my Book of Shadows here also, but I haven't decided yet okay, I've decided, it's here.
First off, Wicca/WitchCraft is a legally recognized religion in the United States. Therefore, Wiccans and Witches are protected by the U.S. Constitution, the First and Fourteenth Amendments. Check out the laws at: Pagan Legal Rights
WitchCraft's origins go back before Christianity, Judaism, Islam - before Buddhism and Hinduism as well, and is very different from all of them. It's closer in spirit to traditional Native American life (which is probably why I've gravitated to both all my life). It's not based on dogma or a set of beliefs, nor on scriptures or a sacred book revealed by a great man. WitchCraft takes its teachings from nature, and reads inspiration in the movements of the sun, moon and stars, the flight of birds, the slow growth of trees, and the cycles of the seasons.
WitchCraft demands intellectual freedom and the courage to confront our own assumptions. It is not a belief system; it is a constantly self-renewing attitude of life. WitchCraft is serious - but it's not pompous or solemn. It is actually full of fun, love and wonder!
Below are the different laws, rules and beliefs I hold dear to my survival as a decent and spiritual person. Like I said, most of them are Wiccan, but I gravitate to traditional Native American beliefs. I make my own path, so to speak, reading and studying many different ways and adapting what I feel is best for me to fit my life.
A couple of good books to start with if you're just learning the Wiccan way of life are Embracing the Moon and A Witch Alone: Thirteen Moons to Master Natural Magick. You can buy them at a discount through here:
