- Exploring Day trips
The Annapolis Valley is a great
place to explore.
Some members of the club have mentioned
that they wish to venture farther.

  | Are you tired
of Nova Scotia Architecture?
 Newcomers Club members
Gweneth and Bob Wallace
 want to take you on
a Tour of Greece and Turkey!
Aladdin, King Midas, the Charge of the Light Brigade, Antony and Cleopatra,
Santa Claus, Florence Nightingale, the Trojan Horse, Gallipoli, Whirling
Dervishes, Saint Paul.
What do all these have in common? They all took place in what is now
Turkey. Modern Turkey is an amazing mix of sophisticated cities like Istanbul
and unspoiled rural countryside like the hoo-doo land of Cappadocia. |     All this, along with the wonders
of Greece,
are part of a tour led by newcomer
members,
 Bob and Gwynneth Wallace,
 departing August 30th for a 17
day journey
 following the footsteps of St.
Paul.
(Club members will take a bus)

   The Wallaces have conducted many
tours
over the past 20 years including
several to Israel,
 to South Africa, Germany, Austria
and more.
They have found Turkey to be one
of the friendliest lands
 they have visited, where school
children
 are taught to befriend tourists!
 In addition, surprising to many,

   Turkish cuisine is rated second
in the world,
 exceeded only by the French.
The tour begins in Istanbul and
ends Athens,
and includes northern Greece,
rarely a part of the tourist itinerary.
 Along with the wellknown highlights
of Greece
there will be a day cruise visiting
 three picturesque Saronic islands
off Athens.

 If you are interested
the Wallaces can be contacted at
542 3719
and they will be at the March General
Meeting.
