Women in Leadership |
Women of Vision provides leadership development training for women around the world. On this website are several articles to introduce our basic training concepts. Advocacy Politics Citizen Leaders: The Key to Effective Democracy A Review of Leadership Theory Social Change and Social Movements Our underlying philosophy is "connective leadership" from Jean Lipman-Blumen's ground breaking book The Connective Edge published in 1996 by Jossey-Bass of San Francisco, CA USA. The symbol of connective leadership is the spider's web, a multitude of relationships and connections around a common purpose. Women are spinning webs of inclusion and understanding through the UN's international conferences and meetings. As we gain the knowledge of our common condition and the interconnected forces that influence our lives, we can form a network of support across vast distances, if necessary, to address our issues. We can "think globally and act locally." For additional information or to discuss potential training contact Jan Secor, Ed.D. at jsecor@serv.net |
