Brett's Lover, Pelopidas, a contributing author at Wrestling Stories, said:

"The charity that I support is Operation Open Hand in San Francisco, which bring meals on wheels to over 3,000 people with AIDS every day. They helped feed Brett for 5 years, and they are a very good, well-run group."

Brett's lover also noted that Brett would have advocated the GLSEN project, promoting understanding and acceptance among gay, lesbian, and straight youth.
