Episode 7 - Take Dat, Dave Mordal!: July 15, 2003
This week immunity was especially important because it was the last time the comics could actually win immunity. Dat was no fool. He knew he was going down... but not before his star-making turn as "background coffee guy" on Good Morning, Miami. While Dat wandered awestruck around the set of the NBC comedy, Rich, Cory and Dave huddled back at the house and tried to figure out how Dat could possibly be funny. They were baffled. Rich thought someone who was genuinely funny would be funny all the time, not just on stage. Rich and Dave weren't shy about sharing their feelings with Dat when he returned to the house later that day.

Rich said the goal of "Last Comic" was to find out who was funny, to which Dat replied, "I don't think I have to prove myself." Dave thought this was ludicrous since it's a competition, not "rainbows and Skittles." In his defense, Dat said he operated with positive thinking and saved the wisecracking for the stage. Then he went into this rant about how he wanted to figure out "their" (meaning Cory, Dave and Rich) culture and discover what they were eating in New York. Huh? Dave was confused and said but "that's not what this show is about, getting to know the cuisine of New York!" Dat put it in perspective later and used the animosity to fuel his determination. According to Dat, the others had made him "bulletproof."

Soon Jay arrived to announce the final immunity challenge: A Hollywood Scavenger Hunt. Armed with a list of people/places/things they needed to be photographed with, the comics were dropped off on Hollywood Boulevard and given limited time to gather as many photos as possible.  The winner would not only earn immunity but would also fly to New York for a guest spot on Last Call with Carson Daly. The final six comics would perform in Las Vegas with America voting to decide the Last Comic Standing. Dave and Rich started out together, but as Rich said "two zeros make a big zero," so they split up. Per usual, Ralphie put in as little effort as possible. Cory, Dat and Tess seemed to be hustling the most.  Geoff tried offering $10,000 to any woman wearing blue eyeshadow, but that didn't seem to work for him. Rich just wound up taking interesting photos of tourists with little or no regard for the actual list. While Dat tried to convince a balding guy to comb over his hair, Cory convinced another guy to expose his butt crack. Just another fun day on Hollywood Boulevard!

Back at the house, Jay counted up the photos to declare a winner. Geoff had 11 items, Tess had 7, but with 14 photos Cory was the winner! She had made it into the final six. Now, the comic coalition put the "get rid of Dat" plan in motion. The thinking (it would later be revealed) was that Dat would go up against Geoff, so no matter who was voted out the coalition would dominate the final six. To kill time before the vote, Cory gave Rich a homemade facial. Dave pointed out that anytime you see Rich he's either "ironing or standing on a chair screaming because there's a rat in the house." What's he trying to say? Dave said that he and Rich have always gotten along well,  but now he feared that Rich was attracted to him. These comics, such kidders. Rich said to get some of his manliness back after the facial he'd have to kill someone, and encouraged Dat to jump over the backyard railing. Nice. Instead, Dat wandered off to practice his stand-up on the tennis court in anticipation of being voted out.

Not surprisingly, during that night's vote the house unanimously voted against Dat. - contrary to what Dat was hoping for. He thought he was "in Ralphie's right or left pocket." This must have made it hard to breathe. He referred to Cory as his "Caucasian mother." He also thought of Geoff as his "Cambodian brother." Speaking of Geoff, instead of choosing Geoff as the coalition had hoped, Dat chose to go up against Dave.  He also revealed the plot against Geoff to the group, which understandably surprised Geoff. Once the live audience arrived, Dave took the stage first. Dave touched on politics, blackouts and drinking. He said the best treatment for alcoholism is to get in a lot of trouble, because "no one ever wakes up and quits drinking because they had too good a time." Next it was Dat's turn and he started with the Vietnamese accent, as he did in his audition performance. The crowd seemed to love the stories of his conservative, Asian family. In the end, the coalition was stunned to learn that the audience had deemed Dat the funniest (with 70% of the vote!). Dave Mordal was headed home. Dave took it in stride, saying that Dat would "have a very good career and then get arrested for some crime."
