| Nu-Metal is currently taking a huge hit. Rap-rock is also in a drought. Crazy Town (Darkhorse), Papa Roach (LOVEHATETRAGEDY) , Linkin Park (Reanimation), and Limp Bizkit (New Old Songs) are all rap-rock once greats taking severe hits. Canadain metal hasn't been very succesful only producing the likes of hard rockers Finger Eleven, and metal teens Kittie. Yet Project Wyze hasn't lost anything. The band started off as two MC's Yas, and Bobby. Soon enough they picked up on everybody else in the band. The band released it's first indie album "Trapz Of Poetic Posion" in 1996. The band started off touring 1998 opening for the likes of Papa Roach, and The Step Kings. In 2000 Project Wyze found a second guitarist Sasha (The Sash) and recorded the band's second indie EP "Only If I Knew." The EP got Project Wyze a record deal with Sony Music Canada. The debut major label record was recorded all at night. The album "Misfits, Strangers, Liars, Friends" was recorded in three months. "Nothing Is What It Seems" was the first single dropped. It got massive airplay on Muchmusic and radio across Canada. The rap-rock song was played furiously on metal channels. "Room To Breathe" was the second single which was also got massive airplay. Both videos got High Rotations on Muchmusic. "Room To Breathe" made it to #25 on the Muchmusic Countdown. The band even got to tour with metal legend Ozzy Osbourne and Candain rockers The Tea Party across Canada. Project Wyze's album even has Cage from Smut Peddlers on it in a song called "Jacobz Ladder." Cage is on Eminem's long list of dis-likes. Project Wyze recorded "Erica PT.II" with Vancouver rap group the Swollen Members and Moka Only. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
