"She was hoping that maybe she could get a job as maybe the person who cleans up around the place."

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, people really do ask these questions. If you have any questions that aren't answered here, please e-mail me and ask away.

Q. So, who is this Tom McCamus guy?

A. Tom is an award-winning Canadian theatre, film, and television actor. For further info, check out his
biography on this site, and pretty much everything else on this site.

Q. Right. And who's Chick Reid?

A. Carol Ann "Chick" Reid is a Canadian theatre and TV actress, who happens to be married to Tom McCamus. You know, that guy this site is about. You can read more about Chick
here.

Q. Can I get a picture / autograph of Tom or Chick?

A. Yes, if you can manage to get to one of their theatre performances and they don't look like they're about to slip into a catatonic state if they don't sleep / eat / drink / watch
Friends reruns within 10 minutes. When Tom was working on Mutant X, there used to be an address you could write letters to, but no more.

Q. Ah,
Mutant X. What's up with that, then?

A. Errr...
Mutant X ran for three seasons, in which Tom was a recurring guest star. However, at the close of Season 3, Mutant X's parent company had financial problems, and production stopped. A "Season 4" was broadcast, which was actually all re-runs. Although it had been hoped that a new production company would take on the programme, the sets have been taken down, and the actors have mostly got new jobs. So, we're not holding our breaths.

Q. What on earth is
Trinity? I've never heard of it.

A.
Trinity is a science-fiction film, directed by Gary Boulton-Brown. It has been shown at several film festivals in North America, but as yet  has only been released on DVD in Holland. And Belgium. It is mainly of interest as being the film that got Tom his role as Mason Eckhart in Mutant X. In Trinity, Tom plays a bleach-blond geneticist who turns evil... or is that his clone? Hmmm... Anyway, the film was produced by the same people who produced Mutant X, and they recommended Tom. The Trinity information page is here.

Q. And while we're on the subject of obscure films, what's this Cockroach thing?

A.
The Cockroach That Ate Cincinnati is a film adaptation of three stage plays by Alan Williams. The story of the film's making is best told by reading about it on the film's website, here. Suffice to say that it's wild and wacky, and that Tom isn't in it. He was cast in it originally, and the film was made, only for the crew to discover that it was all out of focus. So, it was remade, minus Tom. But, it's probably still worth a look, if you can ever find a copy.
