From the media I found out there was going to be a public gathering for fans to pay their last respects. Leslie's Obituary I didn't know what to expect. |
I arrived early. And already the roads were closed, flowers were brought, and hundreds of people standing around. |
There Were So Many Flowers, So Many Baskets -Lining The Way Around The Building.. |
When I got to the Park, There were a Hundred or So Fans, Dressed in Black, With White Arm Bands in the First Section. The Rest were Empty. |
It seemed it might turn into a small affair, except for the Journalists... I went off to take photos of the flowers.. |
I didn't Know Where to Go, So I walked into the Funeral Palour. Rows of Journalists were Staking Out thier Places Behind A Barrier. The Security On the Steps Looked at Me, and Let Me in. Halfway in the lobby, Where You Can Sign Your Condolences, A Staff Members Asks Me Who I am. She Seemed At Lost As to Why I was Standing There. As Was I.. "You're a Journalist?" She goes, "No." I reply. "You're Leslie's Friends?" I shake my head. "What are you doing here??" "I thought we could come in." "Who Said?" "The Papers. They said we could come today." "Oh You're a FAN!" She sighed. "Yeah." "You Have to go over the road to the park on the other side. And Line up.." |
