Once In Line: I was Struck By The Range Of People Who Turned Up. From Different Generations -Muis Muis, To Jei Jeis, To Sums Sums- Familes, Couples, and of course A few Men Holding Flowers. Some People Looked Like Managers, Others Looked Like House Wives. It was Truly a Picture of Hong Kong in Full.. And We All Came To Pay Respects to One Man: Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing That's True Stardom and Adoration For You. |
And As You Can See With All The Masks, We were All Risking Catching SARS. |
And Then It Started To Rain Again. I was Wet, the Camera Started to Hum. I Felt Like I Would Start to Cry from Exhaustion, from The Craziness of Everything -That Day and The Days Preceeding it. It's Not Been A Good Two Weeks for Hong Kong.. I Thought Maybe I Should Leave.. Luckily I Glanced At the Sky... and saw Leslie's Family.. |
As Time Wore On, Standing In Line Became Increasingly Difficult. With Anything that is Emotionally Charged, People Get Agitated. As The Sun Went down, You Could Feel the Restlessness of the Crowds.. Some People Were Crying, Others Talking Loudly On the Phone, The Crowd's Mood Was Shifting.. |
