Woke up early again, 6ish EST. !! About 8, I made my way to Nancy and Cathy's room for more morning
Jamaican coffee. Again, I brought my two small cups, knocked on the door, held out the cups with a pout on my face (trying
to be funny), but I quickly learned that my invitation for morning coffee was good for one time, and one time only. As the pot
of coffee was almost gone, Nancy finished it up and made another for me, and I politely and patiently waited for the next pot to brew,
added my fixin's, then scurried back to my room to finish getting ready for the all day
Salt Cay add-on dive excursion. I wasn't all *that* excited about it, but in order to dive this day, I had to go as all the boats
were going, and all our dive masters were looking forward to it.
The diving was uneventful; as Ty said, the waters were quiet that day. Quiet enough that we lost 3 of
our divers to beer on the second dive. I chose not to eat lunch as it wasn't even included in the extra cost of the Salt Cay diving
price; I was just plain tired of eating, and I wasn't hungry either. I grabbed a very comfortable lounge chair
behind the restaurant, pulled it into the shade, tried to read, but mostly relaxed until lunch was over. I understand
homemade ice cream was offered up, so it's a good thing I didn't know that until later! Yum!
By general consensus, our boat went back early (Tim's boat stayed for the white house tour), and man was
I tired! I love the boat ride, but all the sun and fun starts to wear you out eventually. When we returned to Grand Turk,
we all went over to The Water's Edge and pre-ordered our dinner, figuring it couldn't be any worse than the previous night.
Pre-ordering is standard procedure if you are going on a night dive, and it used to be that your dinner would be waiting when you
returned from diving. Not any more!
Back to the hotel for a shower, to the store for more water, some beach time, a rum punch and the sunset
with part of the group, then at the appointed time I made my way over to the restaurant for dinner. After a few minor glitches
before my arrival, like one waitress argued that we couldn't have made our order yet as she just got there. Then she came back
and tried to take the order again, and after I arrived she came over, got our pre-order and wrote it on her hand, after which
the OTHER waitress came over, knowing we had pre-ordered, asking what each of our orders were. After we explained the first
waitress had written it on her hand, she went and took care of things for us. And lo and behold, we got our dinner within 30
minutes! And I have to say, as promised, the cheeseburgers were VERY GOOD. Another early night, and tomorrow would be our last full day on the island.
