The All African Conference of Churches AACC will hold her
8th General Assembly in Yaounde, Cameroon, from the
22nd - 27th November, 2003 under the theme,
"Come, let us rebuild" Nehemiah 2:17 - 18.

The Pre-assembly Youth Event-PAYE will take place from
the 19th - 22nd November.

The Pre-assembly Youth Event will bring young people
from around Africa in three days of discussions and on
topical issues concerning Africa.

The sub themes of the PAYE include the following:
youth and peace building; youth and HIV/AIDS pandemic:
becoming caring and healing communities of young people;
youth and globalization: economic injustice and
creating new alternatives; the youth ecumenical vision
and mission; youth and ecumenical formation: enhancing
youth leadership roles in the church and society;
and youth and environmental degradation: youth being
stewards of God's creation.

The focus of the reflections at this General Assembly
will be on the following sub-themes: Health and healing
Conflicts and Wars, Our personhood, Selfhood of the
African Church, and Challenges of Globalization,
to name but a few.

It is worth noting that this AACC General Assembly
is the first one in the new millennium.

The last AACC General Assembly was held in
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in October 1997 under the
theme "troubled, but not destroyed".
