The common ram has elongated and strongly compressed body on the sides while this little fish can be identified with much ease by its shorter, stockier, deeper body line and longer fins in proportion to its body length. They may be the smallest of all types of rams, but with their fins flared, particularly for adult males, they exude an air of grace & elegance.

With reasonably good water conditions and regular feeding of a variety of live and dry food, this little gem could reach their maximum size in about 3months, attaining a length of about 4.5cm for male and 3.5cm for female.
