SATURDAY MAY 1ST , 2004

Gee they all get up before Mom again, Ian seems MUCH better, he actually keeps some toast and juice down, and I check his temp, it is 99.70 way better than yesterday. Mom putters around, basically lost because of Taboo. I set to making the memorial for my friend.

To see Taboo clic here.. somewhere around 11:00 Keith comes in and says we should get to burying the Boo Man, since he was in such a hurry to get to Boston yesterday, he just wrapped him in a blanket and put him somewhere safe until we BOTH could get to him.

I find some soft cloth to wrap him in and Keith has gathered his toys and some Catnip. We bury him in my Circle (garden) in the back yard. I hold him the whole tine Keith is digging. Man this is tough. The boys come out to say goodbye and we place him in the spot I picked out and finish up.

Then it is on to business as usual, tho Mom just isn’t into it. Dr Laura calls to check on Ian. We do the grocery shopping etc and then settle in to watch the Busch race on TV. Then it’s the Haunted Mansion for family TV time and bed. Another s*&*#y day in the books.

SUNDAY MAY 2ND , 2004

Mom isn’t to much better today, it may be that absolutely everything just got to me and Boo was the proverbial straw. I just can’t seem to get out of the funk. We have a nice quiet day at home. Ian is so much better (temp 97.90)that Dad tosses him and his brother outside to play, since they are making soooo  much noise in the house.

TUESDAY MAY 4TH , 2004

Mom is still missing the Boo man, and I have already told Keith that I HAVE to get another cat. I miss him so much. Well I started looking on the internet yesterday and have found the most marvelous website. It is called petfinder.com. You can find any kind of pet that you want. You may see most of them BEFORE you go to the shelter.

I have added the below link for them, since I have found 2 new additions to the family from there. I had originally wanted 2 BLACK cats and I had emailed and called two other shelters about different pairs that they had, but since no one had gotten back to me, I went looking on my own.

I went to the shelter with a list of names that I had researched on the web site. When I arrived I saw Sly, and Jewel and a few others then I spotted Toby & Tyler. and I fell in love instantly, why??? Because as a rule cats do not lick (give kisses) well these two started kissing my fingers as soon as I put my hand in the cage. When I held each of them, I got face kisses, and that was that.

I asked how I go about taking them home. I had to fill out and adoption form and would have to wait a few days since the Black one had not been neutered yet. ( I asked which one was which and no one seemed to know) so I filled out the paperwork and was told I could pick them up Thursday. I was thrilled, I had a cat back in my life.

Today was a busy day, I had to get home, and grab the boys off the bus and drop them at Auntie’s and then get to school myself.

So to surprise them, I took the photo off the website and printed 3 copies. 1 for each of them and 1 for me. I placed them on their seats in the car. So that when they climb in they would find them.

They were just as happy as I was. Ian claimed the grey, and assigned the black to me, and relegated the dog to Dylan. We laughed. They are ALL, OUR pets and we will ALL share, I tell him.

THURSDAY MAY 6TH , 2004

Well today is the day that the cats come home. I have borrowed a carrier from a friend and ended up borrowing one from the shelter.

I arrive at the shelter around 3:00pm, (of course I had to work later than I wanted since I had somewhere to go) I pay the shelter the donation and bundle them up and head for home. The names now have been changed to protect the innocent. I have Neo (the Black) and Z (short for Zion – the Grey) these names come from the movie The Matrix. Neo is the hero of the film and Zion is the human city under attack from the machines.

PHOTO OF TOBY AND TYLER AT PETFINDER.COM

The 3 of us get home JUST before the boys get home from school. I get them in and then let the dog outside. We go to the family room downstairs and start to get acquainted. We are doing ok. Then the boys arrive home and they scatter. We all spend most of today with them in the family room, getting them used to their new home.

Keith stops by to drop off the digital camera for me to get the pictures out ( these are of his senior design stuff) he also rescues Neo who has gotten himself into the lazy boy rocker and can’t seem to get out. (so much for the “I don’t want anymore pets” guy. He loves animals too much for that)

Z seems to be the braver of the 2. (tho he wasn’t neutered today, he was already done) around 7 ish we head for upstairs and Z is the only one to come with us. Z is a bit nervous but adjusts quickly. And I head to bed with a furry buddy.

FRIDAY MAY 7TH , 2004

When I arrive home @ 2:00, I notice that the house is still in one piece. The boys have not taken to curtain climbing so far, or any other majorly destructive behavior. YET!!!!

Z comes running out to greet me, but there is still no sign of Neo. Well I head for my napping spot, and snuggle in to catch an hour of sleep before the kids get home.

Well no sooner do Z and I settle in and “pop” up jumps Neo. Seems he was sleeping in Boo’s old spot, under the bed. WOW this is great; the 3 of us head off to slumberland.

The boys arrive home and things are just as normal as can be. We get another surprise visit from Dad. Seems as if his last lab was cancelled and he figured he’d stop in and say hi.

He finds Neo and foolishly tries to introduce him to the dog. That ended quite badly for Dad, he was bleeding in 2 places and Neo was puffed up as big as a house. I guess he won’t try that again. LOL

SUNDAY MAY 9TH , 2004                                                                MOM’S DAY

Well Mom and Dad get up early as usual. The boys follow a few hours later and I get my cards and hugs etc. Keith heads outside to mow the lawn.

I want to get the gardens in the back yard cleaned up too. It looks like rain so we head right out. We get the gardens cleaned and the boys play yard cleaned up. And the grass cut, just as we sit down in the lawn swing to admire the work, it begins to rain. What timing!!!!

I am to be taken out for Mom’s Day to my traditional place. Yangtze China, for Chinese food, never a wait there.

We have a nice dinner and then head BACK to Wal-Mart to pick up the photos I dropped off on the way to dinner.

I have taken a whole roll of film on the cats, just to make sure I have some of them for your viewing pleasure LOL.

Looks as tho Neo has taken to the place, just fine, here he is making himself at home on the staircase ledge in the living room, you can view just about the whole 1st floor from here.

Tho at this point he still hunches up like a Halloween cat every time he sees the dog.

Hopefully he will get used to him with a lil more time

Here we see the ring leader of the group, Z (Zion) enjoying himself on the new toys that have been purchased for him

When we get home from dinner, Mom sets to creating the largest and the cheapest scratching post for the furry boys, we have purchased 5 rolls of Sisal Rope and Mom and Ian take to fastening the stuff to the Lolly Column in the middle of the family room downstairs. We are using the Hot Glue Gun and wire.  This thing only costs us $10.00 and it’s over 6ft tall. And Z LOVES IT.

Mom tries to study for her final on Tuesday to no avail. Neo will not stay off the notebook and Mom is tired so the 2 of us head for a nap.

We have dinner and then Keith and Ian pack for their trip on Tuesday. Mom studies a little and then joins the family for ice cream and The Simpson’s.

The whole house heads to bed at 9:00 –Neo with Mom and Dad and Z with Dylan.

MONDAY MAY 10TH , 2004

Ian is to be tested today for possible placement in the HONORS Program, when he enters the 5th Grade in September.

Also we have to head to the Pediatricians office after they get home form school, Dr Susan wanted blood tests after 3 weeks and we can go to the local office, rather than all the way to Boston. Yahoo it will only suck 2-3 hours out of our day instead of the WHOLE day. J

TUESDAY MAY 11TH  TO  FRIDAY MAY 14TH, 2004

NATURE AND ME CAMP IN SANDWICH MASS

Dad dropped BOTH kids at school today, since Ian has sooooo much gear. Dylan will come home alone on the bus today.

Mom had an INSANE day at work, no time to study and the Final is tonight. Yikes!!

Ashley arrives as usual and I head to school. I think I did fine, tho before I leave I know I started with a 99 since I asked a friend about one of the questions and I was wrong. Phooey.

WEDNEDAY MAY 12TH, 2004

Gee today would have been my Dad’s 87th birthday  Hmmmmm   I dropped Dylan off at school and headed to work. Man I am so not used to having all these people around. I am used to being alone on the roads etc.

Keith headed to camp this AM, he is scheduled to be in the same cabin with Ian, this makes me feel better.

Well got my Final Grade back. Got a 90…yahooooooo and an A for the course

I receive an email around 4 pm with the below photos…. Thanks Sue

Here he is the 1st day

At Camp.

He would never have been able to do this last September.

The lil guy in the Blue

T shirt is his friend

Ryan,

These photos arrived BEFORE

They even got home

Thanks to Ryan’s MOM

Emailing them to me

She says the boys are having a BLAST. I know that Dylan is really missing his big Brother tho. He can’t wait for them to come home.

For more photos of camp Clic HERE !

THURSDAY MAY 13TH, 2004

Got a quick phone call from Dad, they really are having a blast, he says that HE climbed the wall and was the ONLY dad to make it to the top. (Ian’s beaming since HIS dad is kewl)

He tells me the camp nurse is right on top of EVERYTHING. She has her own place to dispense the meds, and those who need them are rounded up at the meal and taken to the room for their medications. That makes me feel even better.

Well I get busy with laundry and dishes and the cats, and of course end up running late heading out to work. I drop Dylan and NEED gas, get that and stop for Tea and Coffee and finally get to work at 8:15, (should have been there at 8:00) Seems I can’t get to work on time no matter WHAT time I have to be there.

MONDAY MAY 17TH TO  MAY 21ST, 2004

4TH GRADE MCAS TESTING   and Dad off from work for another week – prepping for the Senior Design Presentation and GRADUATION!!!!!!!!!!!!

MONDAY MAY 17TH, 2004

This is one of DAD’s 1st nights home with us with no HOMEWORK. He is very upset with the way things are going with the senior design project. He wishes that they could video tape the thing working, just in case it doesn’t at the presentation.

Well I had already been looking into getting another video camera, we haven’t had one since Ian was 3, because the tapes seemed to lack vertical hold and were hard to watch, so I just put the thing away.

So off we went to Circuit City and in about 2 hours we had purchased a Sony MiniDV camcorder

I get it all charged up and ready for Dad to take to school tomorrow.

TUESDAY MAY 18TH, 2004

The boys come home with their school pictures today…….what do you think????

Pretty Handsome huh??

Well hooray the trailer has FINALLY arrived. I called at 4:00pm and was told it had JUST arrived, can I come up and check it over and then they will prep it for delivery.

Lucky for us, Keith is off from work this week, so we head to Brockton to check it out. We are taken out back to this trailer and as soon as they open the door I say “this isn’t our trailer, it’s not the right color” I

It seems that they ordered the wrong color, they completely forgot that we came in on March 6th and looked at trailer colors for at least 2 hours in the pouring rain, to make sure of the color that we wanted.

The couch and dinette upholstery is hideous. Everything else is ok, color wise, but I wanted the GREEN (Meadow) NOT the PLUM

BUT this one has a BONUS. There is a rack system for MORE cargo that the factory has been tossing on for free. And Keith REALLY likes it.

Our Salesman is not in today so I am told to call him tomorrow 1st thing. (lil do they know that 1st thing in the AM to me is 0500)

Keith and I and the boys have dinner at the 99. Everyone gets a nice juicy steak and then we head for home. It’s been another long day.

WEDNESDAY MAY 19TH, 2004

At 0915 I call and talk to my salesman, he says he doesn’t know what happened and he will look into it and call me back. (note-he never does)

Well tonight I am not going anywhere. I have my certification test tomorrow.

(for NOVELL CERTIFIED ADMINISTRATOR) I have my certificate that I finished the class and now I have to test, to back it up.

THURSDAY MAY 20TH, 2004

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Note today is TONY STEWART’S BIRTHDAY – hence why I picked today to take my test. Hoping for some GOOD Mojo !!!!  J
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well I head to the test at 0915, good thing cause the web directions stunk. I arrive at the testing center around 10:05 and sign in. I am allowed to start right away. Great, I would hate to have to sit around for 25 minutes.

The thing is set up and they give me 75 minutes to take it. Once you go to the next question there is no going back. So I settle in and get started. Ok 22 minutes later I see the end of the questions go across the computer screen and the results flash up on the monitor.

I needed to score 572 out of a possible 800.    my score is

::::::::::drum roll:::::::::::::    712  I have passed my CNA test. Yahooooooooooo!  I am so glad I didn’t waste that $125.00 testing fee by failing. I call Keith and let him know and then head up to the RV dealer to hash out a few things.

When I arrive my salesman says he called and left a message (I never got one) any who. We discuss the problem. The best they can do with the trailer that is here is offer me a $100.00 gift certificate at their store. – Unacceptable.

Next – we set about looking at the in stock trailers that they have. We find 1 possible and then head to the Raynham lot to check one other.

The WILDCAT that I look at has a nice bedroom for the kids, tho it only has 2 bunks, and if we take company, which we normally do, we will have to open the sofa or the dinette for sleeping. and we were trying to avoid that. And it is BLUE, again, not my favorite color.

They will check to see how long it will be to get me a new RIGHT colored COUGAR and a price for the WILDCAT. I am told to call a lil later today.

I let Keith know all about this and head home. It is a quiet night at home, since Keith doesn’t get back from working with the “team” until 8:00pm.
