We are
off to Massasoit again, this time Keith basically dumps the trailer and heads
to work, the boys and I get the thing all set up.
By
We return
to the trailer and I make spaghetti for supper, bad idea in a hot trailer but
the kids wanted it. Dylan tried to open it “byself”
and we had an angel hair explosion all over the floor. Oh well
!!!!.
This
morning the stupid dog wakes us up at 0500 to go outside, Keith takes him out
without his leash, (which is normal, the dog never runs off. Ha ha) Shadow heads into the brush for a lil
“privacy” and then never returns.
Keith
gives up after a good look around and comes back to bed, figuring the dummie will return . well by
Ian and I
head out to pick up his friend who will be staying with us overnight, we stop
at home 1st to check on the cats and I get a DC (Direct Connect)
from dad. It seems as if the rangers have the dog and have been going site to
site to find the owner. Seems the idiot has gotten himself SKUNKED!!!! Ok now is the time we should have given him
away….. (one of the rangers actually wanted
him…but Dylan would not give him up, fooey)
Keith
tells Ian and I to wait at the house for him, he is bringing the dog home. What
can we do??? Not sure, but we wait. Keith finally gets home with Shadow (inside
the truck, since he jumped OUT of the bed of the truck WITH his leash on and
almost hung himself)
I tell him to put him in the back yard and leave
him there, I put out food and water and he is on his own. He is NOT coming in
the house, nor is he going into the brand new trailer.
Ian and I finally head to the friends house and
pick him up and head back to the campground, the afternoon is very quiet and
very dry in the trailer without the dog barking and drooling.
We spend
the day at the beach again, the boys do a lil bike riding and then it’s
TV and bed.
WEDENESDAY
More of the
same……………………………..
Pack it up and head home, unload and do laundry,
Ian’s friend has stayed another night and came home with us and had to
help unload.
Sometime around
PREDNISONE DOWN TO 6MG
MOM WORKED HER DAY OFF - VACATIONS
Home in
time to watch the race and favorite driver WINS AGAIN!!!! And she got to see it this time
WAY TO
GO
TONY!!!!
Both
boys got their regular check ups for school today.
DYLAN 8/03 Change Height 4’6.25” 4’3” +3.25” Weight 99.25
lbs 77.0 lbs + 22.25 lbs BP 130/74 ~~~ Eye Sight 20/25 20/20 IAN DATE Change Height 4’8” 4’6.5” +1.5” Weight 78.5 lbs 62.0 lbs 16.5 lbs BP 137/80 110/70 Eye Sight 20/20 20/20
Not a bad report, Dylan is waaay to heavy, and his B/P
was up, got to get rid of the junk food, more fruits and veggies and LOTZ more
exercise, and not just the thumb muscles. We will have to come back in a few
months to get the B/P checked again.
Ian has actually LOST weight since his
0900 APPOINMENT W/
DR G IN OTHOPEDICS (THE TUMOR GUY)
Everyone is up early, Dylan is staying with Auntie
so he is not bored silly and we don’t have to deal with him and the
possible bad news.
Ian, Dad and I arrive in
We are not moved into the exam room until
We are seen by a Dr J, 1st and while
they are looking at Ian’s films in the hallway Keith and I hear Dr G ask
“why is he here to see me??” So I stick my head out and give Dr J
the copy of the letter that I received from Dr Z. He puts Ian thru the range of
motion stuff again, nothing hurts, so this guys
opinion is back to the ole wait and see. Come back in a year and we’ll do
more x-rays and see if there is any pain.
While this news is a GREAT relief, I am now totally
confused. Dr #1 put Ian on crutches immediately upon seeing the films of the
thing. Dr #2- was of the wait and see persuasion at 1st then with
the results from the follow up films, he opted for surgery to fix the defect,
but with a second opinion from Dr #3. and HIS opinion
is back to do nothing. Lord
help them if this thing ever turns into something bad and they could have
stopped it, and didn’t.
It’s
off to the blood center, where Dad donates and gets us free parking, then to
Longwood Galleria for lunch and then home to get Dylan. What a long day, but
the worst is past and we are not to worry about the Enchondroma until next
year’s check up.
The boys
and Dad head to Uncle Lance’s & Auntie Michelle’s new house to
help with the demolition. (They bought a fixer upper) They left around
RHEUMETOLOGY APPT @
Today
was a day I have been waiting for since this whole horrid mess began. We saw Dr
S today and he said
“There are no
signs of Dermatomyositis,
looks like he is in
remission”
What a happy day today was, I
showed Dr S the blood test results from a month ago that were sssooooo close to normal. He was very pleased. We shall go
back in 8 weeks (with a 4 week visit to Dr Laura for another Blood work up) and
the Prednisone can go down by 1mg every 2 weeks not once every 4 weeks and we
are to stop at 2mg. By then it will be time for another visit and we can
discuss getting rid of the Cyclosporine next. THAT made Ian’s day.
We NEXTEL’d
Dad as soon as we hit Route 9 on the way home to give him the great news.
He was very happy about it.
When
we got home the boys had a friend over for a bit and mom started loading the
trailer since we are leaving Saturday for
At one point mom was cooking dinner, Talking to Ian in the kitchen, walkie-talkieing
to Dad, ordering Meds via the house phone. Talk about multi-tasking.
Then
took the basket of stuff to the trailer and checked what we still needed.
AND MIDDLE SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE –TO MEET IAN’S NEW TEACHER
Arrived at the new school around
Then it is off to the homerooms to meet the
teachers and fill out more paperwork. Ms L seems nice, and she is the teacher
of the honors students, so I guess Ian will be spending a lot of time with her.
I spoke to her briefly to let her know that Ian
will be absent for the 1st 4 days because of a family vacation, She
was jealous J.
Ian practiced opening his locker, opening is ok,
but the closing he NEEDS to slam it in order to get it to lock. And there is a
pretty girl next to him that needs help opening her locker. (bet
there will be lots of volunteers to do that ::::grin::::

Absolutely insane day at work,
ran shorthanded yet again and had to stay overtime in order to make sure that
someone didn’t get stuck working alone.
It was constant all day long and no time
for a break or lunch even. Keith brought the boys to me, and then it was errand
time.
CVS to pick up meds, Walmart
to grocery shop, pick up all the supplies the kids need for school and then
home and sort the groceries and pack food in the trailer. Well 3 outta 4 ain’t bad. I never did get to taking
the stuff out to the trailer.
Mom ran
out of gas around
Cousin
Matt arrived around
