================================= USS CHESAPEAKE (NCC-31813) Hood-Class Light Cruiser (CL) Tactical Squadron 33, Green Fleet ================================= =========================================================== Intermission: Food Fight Fiasco Turns Into a Murder Mystery =========================================================== The CHESAPEAKE crew return to Green Fleet Headquarters at SB DELTA, hoping that perhaps the two-week layover would give the ship a bit of a break from the R&R that was scuttled on DS4. But, of course, the crew in question being that of the CHESAPEAKE, that would hardly happen. CDR Malveo, XO, invites LT Armstrong, OPS, and LTjg Shaso, CEO, to dinner on the station. They are joined by LTjg Finn, CNS, and they go to the Starbase Eating Establishment (the S.E.E.) for dinner. While dancing, Shaso's cybernetic system goes through a reinitialization, triggering a series of events that escalate into a huge food fight with all the patrons (including ENS Jasan, soon to join the CHESAPEAKE as her Chief Science Officer). The Food Fight Foursome (FFF) end up in the Brig on DELTA, spending a rather nervewracking night. The next day, after CDR Brennan meets with RADM Mallory (who promotes him to Captain), he discovers that four of his officers are missing. He discovers little after some sleuthing, but ENS Jasan, who reports for duty, lets him know that they are in the DELTA Brig. The two head over to find out what was going on... and finds out the exorbitant amount of bail posted for them. Brennan's head is full of this dilemma as he takes the soon-to- be-CO of the CHESAPEAKE, CAPT Elisabeth 'Ellie' Romee, on a tour of the ship. Upon returning to his Ready Room, Brennan is visited by Nurse Stavay Tats-Marush, who says she has an idea... though she doesn't tell him what it is. What it turns out to be, is a scam of sorts. The two Orion women, Tats-Marush and Kimmi Spel-Arenma, hold an auction of a suitcase of latinum bars. Two parties, a human named Bruner and a Ferengi named Nox, end up outbidding each other, with the Ferengi winning. The problem is that the suitcase is only lined with latinum... the rest is fake! Later that evening, after the FFF are bailed out, Tats-Marush gets a message from the Captain, telling them that the restauranteur wants to talk to them. It turns out the message was false, and when they arrive at the restaurant, they are framed for murder and are thrown in jail. Tats-Marush contact Brennan to let him know, and he and Malveo talk this new situation over. In the meantime, Tats-Marush calls the one person who might very well be able to help them -- Commander th'Tellan, of DS4. th'Tellan decides to help the FFF, to her relief, and the FFF make plans with him, with Finn wearing surveillance equipment. After a lengthy investigation (that involves yet another ingestion of a mysterious substance by Malveo), they settle on Spunelli as the primary suspect. Finn traps him in a rigged shuttle, but he reveals that he is wearing multiple explosive devices. In the confrontation that follows, Spunelli eggs Romee on, Romee moves to draw her phaser, Spunelli shoves Finn and runs for another shuttle, Nikka takes aim but fails to find an opportunity, and just as they think he will make his escape, Mackinaw (a demolitions expert) disables Spunelli's contraption, Nikka dives for the detonator, and they're all saved.
