Site Name | My Comments | Answer to Vision of Trek question |
Kyle's Star Trek Birth of the Federation Page |
All the information one could ever wish for about the game "Birth of the Federation" is here and readily accessible. From a rundown of the major and minor species to strategies to ship classes, this site has it all. 5/19/99 | Trek shows us all that the impossible is never out of reach causeing us to always reach for the stars and the future. |
Cruzeiro do Sul Headquarters |
This bilingual site offers visitors some insight into the technology and history of the Federation as well as episode guides and a section dedicated to some of the most popular Alpha Quadrant alien species. 5/9/99 | First I like a good history, any one of them. Star Trek is more of a good history, it is a tale of possibilities and an example of the good the man can do, even in the worst of times. |
USS Vanguard |
The USS Vanguard is a sim group with a very impressive collection of Federation technology on-board. Of most interest to me is their medical equipment. This site gives visitors a very concrete feel for the capabilities of their ship. The personnel records and duty rosters are also very complete. More sims should have this sort of completeness to round out the realism of their stories. 4/24/99 | Infinite Diversity, Infinite Combinations Gene Roddenberry summed up, rather well, his vision of what Star Trek (not the show, but rather the philosphy) is really all about. |
USS Star Viking Italian Site |
I've never seen an on-line stardate converter, but it's here at the USS Star Viking. This and other interesting scripts compensate for my lack of understanding for Italian. 4/24/99 | Is the trouth which could be if the umanity wasn' t so divided |
Terok Nor 2
German site |
Terok Nor two is a German fan site with an interesting setup and a fascinating on-line card collection. 3/28/99 | Live Long and Prosper. |
EDF Marine HQ | Marine HQ is a well-implemented site that contains many pages of interest. The design is worth taking a look at, and the Marines have a command structure that is both complex and clearly defined. 3/16/99 | Star Trek is a possibility of what mankind could achieve given the right initiative to do so. It lays emphasis on the qualities of mankind which are most desired, but not always common in society. |
EDF Central Command Center | This is a Trek gaming site. One of the few I've seen devoted to promoting Trek gaming. It implements a really cool Java navigational panel that can makes my programming fingers itch. (I always look at coding when I see something interesting) If you need some tips on how to get through Starfleet Academy or other released games, this place may help 3/10/99 | I dont' have a specific vision of Trek, I've always been a big sci-fi fan and trek is simply the best. Though I must say that the newer ones lack the rich intpersonal relationships of the crews, for example, Bones and Spock. |
The Omega Directive | Trek fans were given the inside news about some top secret Starfleet orders when Janeway revealed the Omega Directive in the episode of the same name. This site is centered around Voyager and has a nicely designed layout and lots of good styling sense. 3/10/99 | My vision of Trek is the same as my vision for the future of humanity. They are one in the same. I believe Star Trek has more importance in this world than any history class could ever have. Star Trek has always been about acceptance, and peace. Something this world has been lacking since its creation. Star Trek is the real future, or at least it could be if we make it. |
Welcome to the Federation | This page is just one of those pages that you like almost immediately. I had plenty of fun browsing through her TNG and TOS pages. It had a personal feel to it and I felt as if I were speaking to the webmaster throughout. Trish has incorporated a lot of her own thoughts into the pages and her list of Trek bloopers are good for some fun when watching Trek episodes in the future. Another feature worthy of note is the Trivia page, where rankings are awarded for those who try their hand at answering the Trivia. 3/10/99 | I've always seen it as being a future I would like to live in simply because it shows a positive Earth where all are united reguardless of race or gender and where poverty, excessive crime and homless no longer exists. |
Deep Space Seven | Deep Space Seven is a sim group with a complete crew complement that is set on a Regula class space station. They also have a Defiant class warship that is assigned to the station, so their sims do have the ability to go outside of the station's confines. Presented in a pleasing manner, this site contains one of the best crew rosters I've ever seen, and its attention to detail is worthy of note. 3/10/99 | I feel that Star Trek represents what will be in the future for us, a bright a peaceful future where all humans unite. |
Star Trek Final Frontier | This page has plenty of content and interesting pages that educate Trekkers on the Trek Trivia. The site has a variety of pages, from their survey to Trek news to a large databank of technology and personnel. Jeffrey, the webmaster, shows good style and uses some cool javascripts to make this site memorable. 3/10/99 | My Vision of Trek is that Star Trek is a prophecy for what could happen in the future if the world would stop fighting and come together as a whole. I origionally created my website as a hobby, because I had nothing else to do in my spare time, but since then I've grown to realize that it has become much more. |
Sector001 | There is one trend I found interesting in Trek site names. Those with Sector001 in them are almost always very well-researched databases worth lingering for a long while. This Sector001 is no exception. There are pages for every Trek interest, from the profiles of every major regular cast to famous Federation starships to alien image gallery. This site has it all, and it will take a while to see and enjoy all that it has to offer. 2/28/99 | Star Trek for me are a fantastic future, becorse you have eliminated all poor people and all racisim. Gene Roddenberry lives in My heart, does he lives in Yours? |
Starbase 56 | A site with a some entertaining simulated missions and a ship catalogue, Starbase 56 shows some of the most famous starfleet ship classes in a clean LCARS layout. 2/3/99 | I see Star Trek as a vision of a possible future. We are going to space more and more these days and if we find so kind of alien life it might start some kind of "Star Trek". |
Deep Space Oz | A local chapter of the Liberation Fleet, Deep Space Oz is an Australian site with a very colorful personality. The site is very off-beat, but combines some interesting pages to explore, including the ships rendering and landscaping galleries. 1/28/99 | First, I just want the damn world to get its act together and aim for the stars so we can head towards a Trek future. Secondly, I just hope Paramount rolls out a new crew and a new Enterprise and just keeps the dream alive. |
Cpt. Kathryn Janeway's Website | A tribute to the toughest and most resilient captain in Starfleet, Mandi's Kathryn Janeway site is a smart and organized venture on the Net. Featuring ease of navigation and clean efficient layout (Sounds like Seven.), this site will introduce to fans and visitors a softer look at Janeway, whose ship depends on her nerves of steel for psychological support. A fun "Ask Janeway" column and many pages in honor of Captain Janeway also make this site an enjoyable place to visit. 1/5/99 | It gives a bright look on the future. |
Star Trek Voyager Shrine | This is Laura's personal tribute to the Voyager series. Full of all varieties of information pertaining to the Intrepid class ship and her crew, this site is already a very comprehensive resource with many pages to explore. 12/21/98 | I believe Trek has the power to improve people and educate people without them even knowing it. I used to hate Trek and then one day I took the time to actually watch a Voyager episode and I was taken back. It really inspired me to be the best at what I do. I am now a keen DS9 fan and hope to attend conventions in the UK this year. I have made a number of friends because of Trek and feel lucky to be a part of this amazing collective. |
United Federation Organization | This is a brand new sim group that has its page improved almost daily. | I see Star Trek as a possible future, where anything is always possible. Star Trek is compelling to me because anything can happen. |
