I own and recommend each of these books. The only hard part is trying to decide which one has helped me the most.  For first grade and up, I'd recommend starting with Cunningham and Pinnell.  For kindergarten and pre-emergent readers and writers, Wiley Blevins' phonemic awareness books can't be beat for fun activities that teach.	Word Matters: Teaching Phonics and Spelling in theReading/Writing Classroom by Gay Su Pinnell, Irene C. Fountas, Mary Ellen Giacobbe A must-have book for primary teachers ... written in a clear, easy-to-understand fashion, this book gives hundreds of suggestions and ideas for direct teaching of phonics, reading, and writing.  Includes wonderful directions on how to use this book at your school for ongoing professional development or teacher study groups.  By the authors of Guided Reading: Good First Teaching for All Children

Lynch's book is the perfect accompaniment to Cunningham's Making Words  and Phonics They Use.  The lessons are easy to follow and build upon each other in a systematic fashion that appeals to kids and teachers, using word families and high frequency words.  Highly recommended!
Phonics That Work! New Strategies for the Reading / Writing Classroom One of my first phonics books, and still one of the best!  User-friendly for teachers and students, and filled with terrific ideas.	Words Their Way A great K-8 phonics and spelling resource with many Word Sorts and Making Words activities.  I get a lot of mileage out of this book, and refer to it often.
