Hi! I'm Kevin! (Bother!) My name is Kevin Weedon, and I was born...
(Damn!!)
Gosh... this is harder than I thought. Here's a pic or two to be going on with...
![]() | Sorry about this, but every home page should have at least one embarrassing photo of its progenitor. (It's OK, Mum - it was a joke!) This one was taken at work by Matt, one of my colleagues. Seems like he thought I'd look good in leather and conned me into wearing his cap. He did, however, promise not to take any photos. I should have known. The beard is my own, the tie, embarassing.... This has got to be one of the better photos ever taken of me, which isn't saying much. There are more embarrassing shots which are available here, including me in a dress. Well, I was young, I didn't know any better.! ![]() KevCam Yes, I have a WebCam. Sadly enough, the pic to my left is either of me or the mess in my room. Or something. The bloody software to upload pics don't work properly yet, so I've done it with an ftp script, and use the DOS ftp program. I disclaim responsibility for anything you see. | Click on the pic for the archive, if you dare!

Well, I live in a flat in Nottingham (that's in England - of course Americans demand to know thus stuff...), work(?) as a trainer for a company providing PC technical support. Interests at the moment are getting more money, drinking beer and doing stuff with the Internet. I'm also participating in the RC5 cracking project, which uses distributed computing over the 'net, and the SETI project, looking for extra-terrestrial life.. More here
Went to People's College, Nottingham to get ready for Uni, then went to Nottingham Trent University for a year before I bombed out. Intend to go back part-time some day... but I'm terrified of the M-m-maths
Passed my Microsoft Certified Professional (March '98) which meant promotion! and will, hopefully soon start work on Microsoft Certified System Engineer. If that sounds boring, try a swap. Could do with living someone else's life for a bit
In case you're wondering why the Coeliac & Multiple Sclerosis links are included, my mother has Coeliac disease (she was diagnosed in 1996) and Beverley, my (nearly) ex-wife has MS, being diagnosed in 1990. I have done some work for the MS Society in the East Midlands, as well as the Yoga For Health Centre and thought I might also help others to understand something of these two ailments.
I actually live in Old Basford just outside Nottingham. More on Nottingham will follow. Promise.
Someone recently asked what my star sign was... I don't have any great faith in astrology, but I do know what my Chinese sign is - the Goat! If you really want to know what that entails, take the last link... it is amazingly close to being me (apart from the artistic stuff - I can't draw a straight line with a ruler...)
Richard Brooks | One of my oldest friends. Into Hitchhiker's Guide and XTC. Oh, and Nottingham Forest FC |
Paul Buxton | Paul posts regularly to alt.tv.simpsons. 'Nuff said. |
Chris Dakin | Old workmate of mine with a taste in MUDs |
Debbie Davies | The continuing story of a brave woman finding her real self. |
Chris Gisborne | Start Trek/Wallace & Grommit fan... need I say more? |
Ian Stewart | Another workmate who's into mountain bikes and personal injury (to himself!) Hi Ian... |
I just love trees, beer, Bach, Bowie, warm bread, a warm bed, flowers, cats, otters, good food, curries, pasta, hot baths, wearing tatty comfortable clothes, vinyl records (remember them?), sunshine, hats, walking, the "Blues Brothers" film and music, good books, most of the X-Files, Star Trek, cycling and candlelight.
I loathe moths, maths, sticky labels on CD cases, sticky labels on anything, bad drivers, bad motorists, Packard Bell computers, other peoples' eating noises, draughts(of wind), cold baths, cold beds, soft beds, poor spelling, American invasions of the British English language, ER, "political correctness", Michael Jackson, Country & Western music, Channel 5 (UK TV) and loud noises.
WertPerch is not one, but two words - Wert and Perch. Anyone who was in the 5th form at Downham Market Grammar School in about 1971 will tell you that it means "Hello Dog". It was one of these daft school language/code things. I adopted it because I like the sound of the words.
Somewhere I have a teeshirt, one of about 20 we had printed to go on a field trip to Malham, Yorkshire. That is, i have it if it hasn't been turned into dusters...
Anyone from Downham Market Grammar School is ordered to mail me!
I'm also involved with the SETI project - this uses a screensaver (again, spare CPU cycles) to do it's job - more on that at SETI@home site - there's a team at Sheddiness of which I'm a member.
Your CPU is almost asleep... give it some exercise!

PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) is a freeware program written by Phil Zimmermann in the USA. There has been much controversy over the issue of privacy on the 'net. Email, like postcards, can be read by almost anyone from your network administrator through to the intelligence services. PGP allows users to 'seal' their emails for privacy. And that's what counts - privacy not secrecy. "PGP empowers people to take their privacy into their own hands. There's a growing social need for it." Phil Zimmermann More about PGP
